This site was the home of John and Arabella C. Thompson who founded the city of Aledo. He bequeathed the house and property to his wife, Mary, and at her death he bequeathed the house and property to his daughter Adelaide. He bequeathed the property to Elizabeth Fulton, Hope McKinney and Margaret Bloomer.
The Sherrards continued to operate the funeral home until adding on the existing chapel and completely eliminating the Italianate Style Architecture, replacing it with a Gothic Architecture. The Fippinger's have continued to operate the Funeral Home and have made it their principal residence to this date.

Services
Funeral Service will directly follow at 12:00 p.m. Burial is in the Aledo Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be left to the family. Cremation rites will be accorded. Visitation is 3-7 p.m. Wednesday at Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo. The memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. The family requests casual attire and to bring your lawn chair.

At a minimum, provide us with your name, telephone number, and tell us how you'd like us to work with you on the remaining information using the options at the base of the form.

The Shaw family has used Fippinger's Funeral Home for all of the burials and memorial services in the Shaw-Bell family.
Director Scott Fippinger and his team are very professional, caring and considerate. They are knowledgeable and offer suggestions on who to go to in providing the different services needed. We are not local and Scott kindly helped us get Christmas wreaths out to the Shaw-Bell plots. We highly recommend Fippinger's Funeral home.
