Joseph Thompson, founder and CEO of Tommy's Welding Ltd., was only 16 years old when he knew he wanted to become a busines owner someday.
But first came experience. Tommy became a journeyman welder and worked with the boilermakers and in later years the pipefitter unions on jobs throughout Manitoba and the neighbouring provinces. In 1979, he became tired of travelling and decided to strike out on his own; armed with ambition, a truck and a welding machine.

Randall Plumbing & Heating Limited has been working with Tommy's Welding for many years now. We are very satisfied with the quality of work as well as the work ethic Tommy instills in all his employees. When we require a welder, whether it's a planned project, an emergency or just a small task, he is there at a moments notice.
Our in-house projects have included the fabrication of spool pieces, handrails, pipe pre-fab, stairs, repairs of shafts, headers, boom trucks, modifications to bins and compactors amongst many others. Metallic Repairs and Alterations (R Stamp) for shop and field locations of Boilers, Pressure Vessels and Pressure Piping in accordance with the NBIC.
With over 35 years of experience Tommy's Welding Ltd. provides services to various business across the province and beyond. Our fleet of trucks have travelled to various locations providing superior on-time and quality services wherever our client need exists. Some locations outside of the city have included Churchill, God's Lake, Brandon, Gimli, Beausejour, Altona and Portage la Prairie to name a few.
