DR Johnson Lumber Company is a second-generation, family-owned, saw mill in Riddle, Oregon. DRJ has been in operation, producing quality Douglas fir Lumber for over 69 years. DR Johnson originally founded DRJ Lumber in 1951, and passed the family business down to his two daughters, Valerie and Jodi in 2008.

Since then, DRJ has expanded into two companies, the second one being DR Johnson Wood Innovations. DR Johnson Wood Innovations was the first Certified Manufacturer in the United States to produce cross-laminated timber, also known as CLT. Not only does DRJ produce CLT, they have also been a producer of Glulam beams since 1967.

Don R Johnson originally founded DR Johnson Lumber Company in 1951, with the intention of manufacturing quality wood products in the pacific northwest. DR Johnson Lumber Company is located in Riddle, Oregon - The heart of Oregon's Timber Country. When DR first started the company, there were only 10 employees, producing approximately 10,000 board feet of lumber per day.
DR Johnson Lumber provides quality Douglas Fir Lumber that is locally sourced right here in the Heart of Oregon's Timber country, by taking pride in sustainable harvesting practices following the Oregon Practices Act. DRJ has been in business producing lumber for over 69 years and specializes in 1# 6inch, free of heart, free of wane, and anti-stain treating and sealing all lumber.

Ariving at D R JOHNSON in the mid afternoon, the log yard is nearly full of inbound logs on the scale pad. The lift operators and shuttle/sort machines are very busy, but also efficient. Minimal wait times, so unloading there is usually comparable to most other mills. The staff is friendly, while maintaining a safe environment to efficiently manage the tasks before them.
It is not always a peach to be there either, there are times when they get flooded with inbound loads and the wait time increases. An industry wide shortfall.
