Cabin was great. Food was great. Pools themselves were great. The only issue was the amount of little children who weren't supervised by their parents.

Symes was the greatest time my group and i to get together for the holidays. After the night stay and soaking, leaving was sad. We vowed to make symes a yearly thing.
The pools were very "the three bears" kinda feel. The medium and small pool were excellant. I didnt get a chance to check out the big pool:/.
Lets not forget the sweet hearted sass ya got from the check in lady. It made me feel right at home. If your real nice she might give you a joke like she did us. *seriously the lady is cool AF*
Hey the hotel bar didnt have whiskey, but hell! Oh well...
Also, it was cool to hear about spooky

Deers everywhere, small village atmosphere, very hot springs, relaxing, located in the high desert part of Montana. Friendly locals, the Montana bar, good place to get away.

We were there this last weekend. There were no lights around the pools and they were cold. The bed was hard and now I'm sore as hell. Were the beds from the 1920's as well?? We had breakfast in the dining hall. My bf's veggie omelet had a frozen veggie mix of broccoli, cauliflower and carrots in it. Like WTH? The cook walked out of the kitchen and said, "Let me know if I need to make anything over!" and stormed out for a smoke break. For dinner, he had a stuffed chicken breast that was dry and the only saving grace was the gravy. The veggie sides were the same veggies from his breakfast omelet

If you are looking for cheap and meditative, then Big Medicine might be your ticket. We have kids, so Symes is a better choice for us as it has several different pools with varying temperatures ranges from 90 degrees up to 110 degrees.

Their RV hook up's are a joke, they charge $54.00 for a 110 plug-in ONLY, in an ally (which i didn't mind staying) but was concerned about the plug blowing up the pole or our RV. The RV site parking is an open field down the block with ONE 30 amp plug and ONE sewer, that was being used by a family living there. Didn't mind the funky part of the hotel, and the staff was friendly and helpful. But, do not like being over charged for something they advertise they have. Tried several times to talk to some one about the charges and never did get anyone to listen. Will not be staying here again, until

Let me start with the positive. The town motto of Hot Springs, Montana is, "Limp in, leap out." This held true for me. As a person with a disability, I had trouble climbing in and out of the pools the first day I was there (the locals and regulars were helpful) but my mobility had markedly improved on the second day. The mineral waters, although they smell strongly of sulphur, are definitely healing. The people who staff the hotel, and town residents who visit regularly, are friendly and welcoming. Also, the abundance of deer roaming around freely through the neighborhood were fun to

Run, don’t walk!! Actually….. just don’t stop, keep driving!!!
We booked 2 nights here for our Montana vacation, based off the reviews here on Google.
We were not there longer than 10 minutes and requested our money back and got the heck out of dodge! Had to drive to Kalispell (with no cell phones service) and stop for somewhere to eat and find a hotel room for the night.
We were booked in the R6 cabin for Symes, it was very run down. No shingles on the roof, no blinds on some of the windows, pretty sure the ceiling tiles were old asbestos tiles, the beds were all very old mattresses from

Mineral water is awesome and room was relaxing. Place has an old fashioned vintage feel, not many amenities. Great place to relax and have an open mind about the place. I’ve had issues with TV ‘ s in the rooms, old and outdated. No cell service for Verizon. Limited options for places to eat in town, most close early and/or not open certain days.

Symes truly is a healing place! The hotel is definitely historical but I was surprised at how clean it was. Our room was comfortable (old of course) but clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly. The hot springs were great and not to crowded! There were a couple times when the two of us were the only ones in a pool. Highly recommend the breakfast was great we went to a little pub right around the corner which was great too! Bring lots of water the only complaint I would have is the entire hotel is hot springs water so getting a nice cold water was just smaller ones in the cooler they had

One of the first commercially developed hotsprings in the country, Symes Hotsprings is quite rustic. The forties farm house decor with all the kitch and the ancient plumbing and fixtures do not lend themselves to the sparkling clean most people expect of motels these days. On the other hand, if you're looking for a retreat from telephones and media and the kind of deep, healing relaxation you can only get from steaming, mineral rich waters, this place is definitely worth the trip.

Quaint and nostalgic, the rooms have no televisions or phones and, in many cases, no sink or water closet. But

Let me just start off by saying I wish I could give this place 0 stars. DO NOT STAY HERE. Symes Hot Springs is disgusting, run down, and so insanely overpriced it tricks you into thinking it would be a nice place to stay.

The "cabin" we rented was $170 for one night. It was so sweltering hot inside I could barely breathe, and there's no fan to help. The front door has no window covering so hope you want to get to know your neighbors!

The hot springs were slimy, smelly, dirty, and just absolutely awful. I understand mineral water has a slight smell but this was obvious neglect

Quirky is the best word I can think of . If you want modern go elsewhere. On the other hand if you enjoy life and want to live it with gusto and take a step into the past don't miss this place. I can't wait to go back and stay. I could imagine Bogie and Bacall shooting a movie here . Interesting people who obviously enjoy their lives. The hot spring water , sulfur and all , was amazing. My pain was reduced 80% . If I lived close I would go one a week. Another reviewer said

I went to soak for the day. The day rate was very reasonable. Facilities were old and simple but good.

It is a natural hot springs, so it smells like sulfur, but it wasn't overwhelming.

The large pool gets emptied and cleaned on Wednesdays, so pick another day if you want to use the big pool.

Short review: stop in for the hot springs, go somewhere ELSE to eat and stay!
This was a one-star hostelry in 1950.

Symes, at first glance, is a ghost from the past. My BF & I made this a stop on a road trip last summer when we set out to include as many actual hot springs stopovers as possible.

We weren't sure, even once in the hamlet of Hot Springs, that we would find it! Signage for tourists...not much. That's saying something for a municipality of about 8 blocks square...

From the outside, we were prepared for a trip to the past. The most recent upgrade to the exterior took

This review is based so much on my nostalgia. I'm not sure that it is right to write a review based on nostalgia but here goes. I came here for the first time probably in 1998 or 1999. We came to see John Floridis in the hotel late at night. I went with my mom, dad, sister, best friend, her husband and her parents. We rode from Bigfork to Big Arm and then from Big Arm in their old suburban. Not far from the hotel, my bffs dad started serenading his wife, Jane, the song "Jane Says" by Jane's Addiction. This memory is so deeply imbedded in my mind. Jack certainly loved his wife

Came here for a womens retreat. Most of the staff is very nice i espically fell in love with a lady named linda who was filling in one of the mornings for the waitress. She was very sweet and funny. She made breakfast that morning a wonderful experience. Yes this place is definitely old and yes it smells like sulfur but its definitely a unique experience. The sucky part was no fresh water in the room and we didn't have a microwave or refrigerator there was a refrigerator in the hallway that people could share we chose to use an ice chest. Breakfast is good. Dont know about dinner because I

Syme's is an interesting step back in time. It is dated but in a fun way. Just go with the flow! The soaking springs are wonderful and will make your skin feel like velvet. There is also a large swimming pool that is drained and refilled weekly. The water is sulfur but you quickly get used to it. The hot spring water is also piped into your room. Have a beer, sit on the porch swing, grab another and a sandwich and sit out on the upstairs deck and listen to the sounds around you and watch deer walking around in the dark. Our room was clean, the bed and pillows comfy and all the windows

Yes it's old and yes it's run down but you'll have a good time. The rooms are clean and the hotel has a comfy vintage charm. The hot springs are some of the best around. The food is decent and the live music can be really good sometimes, especially while drinking a beer in a bath robe. Plus, they'll let your dog run around with other dogs in the hotel, so your best friend has fun, too. I've always enjoyed Symes. You gotta love it.

The place is rundown and old but the hot springs makes it alright. They need a lot of remodel to do so it will fit the price we are being changed for the rooms. Staffs were very nice. We love soaking in the hot tub but we can't stay in too long. The smell might be too strong for some people. Food at the restaurant was ok but didn't taste very fresh.

Upon reading these reviews I find that the largest complaints are for the smell or the buildings. Look at the prices. Look at the history. For that matter look at the website. The mineral water is of the 2nd highest natural content in the world. Sulfur is a given. The prices they charge are at most cheap compared so ANYTHING close of an establishment. Quinns is only an hr away but just to get into the pool is $10 for ANY AGE & children in swim diapers are not welcome not to mention any other historical hotel in the state is at minimum $75+ which is just sink & toilet. The symes is an historical

Summary: "Yay! I'm a fan."

Be prepared for an odor of sulfur (old eggs) where-ever you go. It's the gas coming out of the mineral springs. Once you've been there for awhile, the nose gets used to it. However, everywhere seems to be filled with it, including -although more faint- the dining area.

They offer both claw-foot tubs in individual rooms with limited privacy (simple doors and partitions, like an old version of modern ADA compliant bathroom stalls), and a large hot tub for fifteen to twenty adults, raised-up from a lower, cooler pool. The hot water continuously

Simply one of the worst places I have ever stayed. The hot springs themselves were fine, but the smell was overpowering. I understand that it is supposed to be good for your skin, but it was too much. There was almost no non-sulfer water available-- all of the water out of the taps and shower was stinky and filled with sulfur: I never felt clean in my time there. Drinking water is only available in the lobby which does not encourage adequate hydration.

The place is mostly dog friendly, which is great when traveling with our pups. However, when I tried to fill up their water bowl with clean water
