Hi! I'm Andrew Vandekop, the Backyard Silversmith! I'm a first generation American (my dad is from Holland and my mom is from England). It was my mom's father who originally taught me silversmithing. I spent two summers at his workshop in England when I was a teenager, watching him use hammers and fire to create beautiful silver goblets, sculptures and jewelry which serves as inspiration for my designs today.

Was passing through and was shown this amazing business. I was able to meet the owners of the business. I found the coolest pieces. I had to have the spur bracelet. I am in love with their authentic pieces. They were very accommodating and their prices were very good for the great quality pieces. They even gave me a tour of where all the magic happens. As the owner Andrew was sharing about his grandfathers stamps and anvil, it was very nice to see the life in his eyes when speaking about his pieces. I can tell that he really loves what he does and it shows in his work. I will never take my piece

My wife and I saw this shop off of I-35 on our drive down from Dallas to Waco for the day. We decided to stop in on our return trip. We are so thankful we did. The silversmith, Andrew, himself showed us his shop and showed and explained how he processes the silver. Him and his wife have a really cool story and they are very friendly. My wife got a ring and after we left and were on our way, I was kicking myself we didnt get more of their products. Glad to see they have an online store. Definitely recommend for anyone driving by looking for a unique and fun experience or for anyone in the Waco area
