Services
Lister Chain & Forge opened as a small blacksmith shop serving local tradesmen in the Pacific Northwest. Ward Lister opened shop in 1911, where he made a living forging horseshoes, steel carriage tires and buggy parts with an anvil, furnace and hammer. As the area's industries expanded, so did the shop's capabilities.
In production since the 1980s and manufactured in Blaine, WA, our stud link anchor chains are manufactured to meet and exceed every requirement for the United States Navy and commercial ship mooring systems. Stud link anchor chains are available from 9/16" through 4" diameters, with a complete range of certifications and grades including ABS, MIL-C-24633, FM3, ORQ, and Lloyds.
Each link begins as an alloy steel round bar purchased directly from an American steel mill. The bar is shot blasted and cut to size, before it's moved down the line into the resistance heater. The formed link proceeds to the flash butt weld station. The combination of electric and hydraulic power produces a weld with a strength equivalent to the parent material.
