Malcarne Contracting is exceptional. Our complex project entailed designing and installing a geo-thermal HVAC system, and all associated wells and ductwork, in a large house, part of which is 300 years old and part of which is 80 years old, with two, non-connected basements. The project presented a range of technical challenges, including retrofitting an old structure with ductwork, integrating equipment located in separate basements into a single system, and doing it while the house was occupied by our family. We contacted John from Malcarne Pool to add a pool to our house, we picked Malcarne Pool because of the great things we heard and read about them and we had hired their construction services previously. Malcarne HVAC was the company of our choice to handle the HVAC installation in our new house. We wanted state of the art equipment and they delivered! My wife and I bought a house built in 1960, which had been improved over the years in various ways that apparently made sense to the owner at the time. It was drafty, and had no air conditioning. I wanted to take advantage of NYSERDA's home energy improvement loan, and ideally get the air conditioning installed as well, all at the same time. Malcarne Contracting is TOP NOTCH!!! They traveled to help me out with my aerobics studio. They built a whole babysitting room and a WONDERFUL stage for me in only 2 days! VERY hard-working and courteous staff, not to mention the founder, Joseph Malcarne, paid extra attention to my concerns and was quick to offer options and solutions. Since the Malcarne commented on my review and I can't seem to respond to theirs, I am adding a review: It took many months for Malcarne to finish the job.They wrote: "There was a minor issue with some over-spray onto objects that were not covered completely." NOTHING was covered before spraying half the basement (the spray foam wasn't completed in one visit). Minor issue? I think not. Have you ever had to take a razor blade to crystal? They wrote: "We stand by our commitment to always put the customer first and make sure their needs are met to the best of our ability."

My house has been chilly in the winter for the 15 years I've lived here. Finally last year, I called Malcarne Contracting and had the NYSERDA energy audit. I was not surprised to see where the heat was leaking out of the house. One of the main problems was the wood tongue and groove cathedral ceiling. At this time, I also was in need of a replacement roof. Malcarne blew in cellulose insulation into the ceiling through the roof before replacing the shingles. This has made a huge difference this winter! They did many other energy saving improvements too numerous to list to make
