Parents can labor and give birth in the center's peaceful, home-like birthing rooms which each come equipped with a large, 2-person birth tub, private bathroom and outdoor patio, and a comfortable family bed where the new family can cuddle, breastfeed and bond.

Prenatal care is an essential part of ensuring the health of you and your baby during pregnancy. It consists of regular checkups that provide a great opportunity to have your questions answered, help alleviate any discomfort you may be experiencing, and administer routine testing to help monitor the development of your future baby.
Monterey Birth & Wellness Center is committed to offering our community high-quality, integrative care, and we are pleased to offer three distinct types of ultrasounds (also known as sonograms), Pregnancy Ultrasounds, Gynecological Ultrasounds and Infertility Ultrasounds. We collaborate with one of the most skilled sonographers in the region.
Seeing your unborn baby in the womb by high-definition ultrasound is a fascinating experience, and for many parents-to-be it is one of most treasured experiences of pregnancy. The Monterey Birth & Wellness Center provides the highest quality 3D ultrasound images and 4D ultrasound video available. These types of ultrasounds are safe for mother and baby when conducted by our expert sonographer, Lance Dursi.

I cannot say enough amazing things about the care at Monterey Birth & Wellness center. I knew I wanted a different level of care than I would receive in a hospital setting. After researching, I discovered that MBWC is accredited so we set up a tour. Nicole at the front desk got us in quickly, was kind, welcoming, and informative. Our perfect birth. We were fully supported by the midwifes at Monterey Birth Center before, during and after.
Prior to finding Monterey, my wife was only getting 15 minute sessions *alone* at the local hospital due to COVID in Santa Cruz every other month or so.
At Monterey Birth Center I was able to attend and *we* had hour long appointments weekly prior to the birth, really got us comfortable with the team. We never felt rushed and every question we had was answered with a great level of detail.
And when we were over our due date, we were comforted with additional ultrasound and full support

If there were more stars, I would give them! From day one, the Wifeys treated me as if I was the only expectant mother in their care. They remember my name and my partner's name (which, having switched from clinical care where I needed to repeat myself 4 times to assistants and doctors, is a big deal!). Responsive, personalized care! My third pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care was provided by the midwives at the Monterey Birth and Wellness Center. I so appreciated that all of my (many!) questions and concerns were answered promptly, thoroughly, and in an evidence-based manner. I felt like I "owned" this pregnancy more than my others because of how care was delivered. During birth when I had some complications, I felt safe because of the experience and competency of my midwives. Baby and I are happy and healthy and so so grateful to this team.

My husband and I cannot adequately express how much we appreciate the care we received at the Monterey Birth and Wellness Center. I have never felt so cared for as I did during our prenatal appointments through to our 6 weeks postpartum appointment. We love the Wifeys and I would recommend them to anyone thinking about having a baby. I think that all women, no matter their thoughts on pregnancy and birth, could benefit from the emotional, physical and mental care given at the MBWC. We miss them already!

The Wifeys of The Monterey Birth and Wellness Center are simply amazing! I first met them in 2016 when I found out I was pregnant, and knew I wanted a natural birth. Because of a history of miscarriage, I wanted to find out if my pregnancy was viable. They gave me a form for an ultrasound right away. It turned out my pregnancy was not viable, and it did end in miscarriage. They were there for me during that time as support, available to answer any questions. Even better, they were there for me afterwards. They were the first health professionals to recognize that I have PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

Our experience at the birth center was nothing short of a real life “dream come true”. It began the opening day of the birth center.... upon having this dream and hoping it could come true. After meeting the wifey’s that day, my fiancé and I agreed we would switch care to them, immediately , as the “this is it” Feeling paired instantly between touring the birth center, and meeting 2 of the 3 WIFEY’s right then and there.
