Services
The Elderton Presbyterian Church is rich in history and tradition. Our service to both Elderton and the surrounding communities in Armstrong and Indiana Counties has been evident for over 150 years. While our congregation dates back to the 1800's, the current church is the result of a merger with the Whitesburg and Elderton United Presbyterian churches in the early 1960's.
Butterfly Hill Preschool is a church sponsored preschool program, which is offered to the community through the Session of the Elderton Presbyterian Church. Eight personnel along with the help of volunteers in various areas make up the team to operate this program successfully.

Children attend from many different school district areas: Armstrong School District (Elderton, Kittanning Twp., Shannock Valley, Dayton, Lenape, West Hills Elementary schools), Apollo-Ridge, Marion Center, Indiana Elementary schools.Butterfly Hill Preschool provides the preschool experience to children 2, 3, 4 and 5 years of age.
Blythe Johns is the Choir Director at the Elderton Presbyterian Church. An ordained elder in the church, Blythe was born and raised in the Elderton Church. Under her leadership and direction, the choir has developed into a multi-faceted music program. Blythe also directs much of the work involved in the presentation of the church's annual Cantata - which she and her daughter Kirsten, were instrumental in developing.
Music is an essential component of the ministry at Elderton Presbyterian Church. We witness and rejoice to the power of Jesus Christ through several programs as well as special opportunities. The Chancel Choir, under the direction of Blythe Johns, leads in morning worship September thru early June each year.
At Shipwrecked VBS, kids discovered how Jesus rescues us through life's storms. Shipwrecked was filled with incredible Bible-learning experiences kids see, hear, touch, and even taste! Team-building games, cool Bible songs, and tasty treats were just a few of the standout activities that helped faith flow into real life.
