Got my sleeve done at shred’s a while back. I don’t remember if I ever left a review, but it was long overdue. He’s a great person, very down to earth, and very honest. His work is astonishing. You’ll go in with an idea, a plan, or something and shred will work with you to give you the best tattoo(s) you could have ever asked for. The man is legitimate. The real deal. Overall amazing human being and badass tattoo artist.

Shred is great, his art...I would say is among the best I have seen in Chicago and is well worth the wait to get tattooed by him. If you are looking for the best possible outcome for your next tattoo, I would definitely recommend stopping in and talking with him. He takes into account that tattoos are more then just cool art, ink and needles. Each new tattoo is like a spiritual awakening. I have to say I love this place!

Shred has done awesome work for myself, my husband, and other family members! Truly the best in town! Worth the wait time for an appointment as he never disappoints! He truly has a gift, is an artist first and a tattoo artist second. I appreciate that he has no problem suggesting what will look best and running with his own creativity- he did that for both of my husband's tattoos! Shop is clean, Shred is super down to earth. Highly recommended!!

Got my first tattoo here 5 years ago by Shred and had been meaning to go back for a while now. I finally did and am so happy with the result. It's just a simple, small script tattoo (done by Miguel) but I absolutely love it. Shred and Miguel are super sweet and definitely talented, you can tell by the personal artwork they have hung up on their walls. I honestly don't see myself going anywhere else but here for my tattoo needs.

Three day, three tats. One for each of my two kids, and one for me. Great work on each one. Sharp clean lines and great fills for me and my son and wonderful watercolor effects for my daughter. And the place itself is crazy clean, good music playing, and Shred and Miguel's humor and professionalism radiate. Now that I've gotten inked for the first time in ten years, I need to come up with another one for these guys to tackle!

At first I thought he was pricey, because I was going to crappy shops that were cheap. Then I saw his work and found out how fast he can go and realized his pricing is actually cheap compared to what you're getting! And when I say he goes fast, I mean he has the skill to move and still do great work and not have you in agonizing pain! Would recommend to anyone and everyone to go to shred!

1st time getting a tattoo here and this guy is amazing! Not only is his work phenomenal, but personality is awesome! Nice clean shop and nice clean beautiful work to match! If your looking for some new INK , Shred is Definitely the man to see!!! Not only is he a talented artist, but actually makes you feel so comfortable , and a old school kinda of guy , I WOULDNT go anywhere else . He's done a bunch of tattoos for me and I started a half sleeve and I ALWAYS get compliments on all his work he's done for me about how "realistic" they look and beautiful. (ya chic tattoos) ;)) You may have a little bit of a wait to get in, but he's definitely worth the wait!!!!

Make sure that the Artist spell checks for you, do not assume they are spelling what you want correct. I requested Carpe Diem, he mispelled it Carpe Deim, I cant blame him totally as I approved the design, however I assumed he had checked. He was on the computer for several minutes after I submitted my request and had overheard the senior artist mention to him to make sure it was spelled correct. I just assumed he did it. The mispelling is one thing and shame on me for assuming and approving. The tattoo itself is bad. The lettering is bad, there is color missing in some spots and he "went

When I first decided I wanted a tattoo, i did a ton of research and sent out some e-mails to a few different artists. Some artists took over a week to respond, and all of them took more than 4 days.
Except one.
Shred answered my e-mail in less than 12 hours, and told me to come into so we could talk about what i wanted to do.

2 weeks after my fiancee passed away, July 17th or so I went back to Shred's to get a tribute for my angel. I was extremely indecisive , initially wanting to get a portrait of him on my back but I changed my mind and decided to go with a key lock heart with text in it. The text I came up with myself and used a text generator to come up with that perfect styled text for my tattoo.The layout of this one also included a skeleton key thru the key lock heart with the text. I have had a few done here. I am really pleased with Shred's and the artist. I have 13 already (not all done here) but I can say with confidence that I totally trust the artist. Although I see other artist for a lot less expensive (such as house tattoo artist), I totally think you get what you pay for. Yeah, they are now tattooing outside in the streets, BUT WHY take a chance on hepatitis or other diseases. Go to places, such as Shred's and be safe and know you are paying for quality. Seriously, this place has tons of photos on their albums, but why not just bring them a photo of something
