Care Practice is an intuitive clinic for patients who know that when they are told that a clinic accepts their insurance, it rarely means they will ultimately escape all the hidden cost built into the system. For those of you who are increasingly aware that "covered" rarely translates when interacting with our current health care system, Care Practice is the perfect practice.
Care Practice was founded in 2008 during the global recession and built to be as simple and transparent with no hidden costs or headaches. The way we do that has been to operate unburdened by insurance companies as a fee-for-service operation. This means that you pay at the time of service and we give you the forms to submit to your insurance where out of network plans often cover up to 80% of the costs.

Services
We're not your average group of doctors. We're passionate about providing good care, but we do it with a sense of humor and a very apparent personality. Our team in San Francisco isn't interested in becoming a vending machine for pharmaceuticals. Patients come to us for integrative, personalized care that makes sense.
We enjoy working with patients who have specific concerns and who are interested in hearing our advice and recommendations. We are not the place for patients who 'know' exactly what they have and want medication for self-diagnosed conditions. We are a fee-for-service organization which means payment is due at the time service is performed.
Ian does healing body work. Combining multiple modalities, Ian is able to troubleshoot the root cause of an injury or pain and make adjustments to the body that relieves pain and changes the relationship to the injury. Ian may prescribe tweaks and changes in your life-like how you move or how you sit-that will lessen the likelihood of the injury and pain returning.
In the spirit of health tech, we're currently looking for actors who will play doctors, we would also be open to hiring some future doctors, and-if there are any left in this city-we're obviously open to hiring real doctors who are looking for a cutting edge place to practice medicine. To be upfront, we should state that we are in talks right now with the Trivago guy so competition is steep.
At Care Practice, we are dedicated to serving the community through personalized and timely medical visits. We do this by limiting the number of patients we schedule each day and making sure our doctors are accessible for follow up needs. We do our best to organize the day with the goal of limiting wait times as much as possible with patients waiting (on average) less than 20 minutes for most visits.

I have been coming here for several years and it is the best place for me. Its quick efficient and very clean. In the crazy city I live in which is San Francisco I feel very safe here and it is flexible with my work hrs which are 10hr days. If I need a weekend date I can also request that as well. Even though they are open part time it has never been a problem for me getting an appointment. Dr. Blackledge and his staff always make me feel welcome and go above what takes to be a professional in today's fast paced working healthcare arena. What I really enjoy is his ability to be compassionate

Dr Blackledge is one of the best doctors I've ever met. He's brilliant and available when we need to see a doctor. He doesn't just diagnose, he counsels us during our visits so we get twice as much help for a truly low price. Not sure how he does it - but he's an important part of San Francisco's healthcare system.

These guys have a great thing going. Different to be sure, but in a refreshing way in my opinion. Im sorry to say but the negative reviews on here are pretty irrational, and from people that might not quite understand medical billing. It turns out medical care is not free, and that they are forced to use the same codes for anything they do that the rest of the industry uses, so bills always look weird. But thats just so they can literally get paid anything. Dr. B is a super cerebral dude and fun to talk to.

VERY VERY shady operation!
I saw Dr. Blackledge, and my actual appointment with him was fine. However, he recommended several medications and supplements to me. When I got to the front desk to pay my bill, the total was very high, so I decided to leave out the supplements.
The receptionist Nicki (sp?) refused to remove the supplements from the total. She kept insisting that the price of the supplements had been rolled into the total of the visit by the doctor and she couldn't remove the items. She said I'd have to speak to the doctor to reprice the total bill. But since the doctor

I've visited this office a few times, when I thought I had a UTI, turns out one time it was a UTI, he cured it, but the second time it wasn't, even though I thought it was, but no it was rib cage pain! Dr. Blackledge identified the issue, gave me a support pad to put around my waist, some Tylenol because I rarely ever take pain medication, and 24 hours later, I felt better. His bedside manner is impeccable. Definitely my favorite doctor.

Reasonable rates? How can it be reasonable rates when they advertise introductory rates, and then jack up the price when you to go the receptionist to pay? Their website says "New patient visits start at $155 for Urgent Car3e" Right. So I'm a new patient. I go in on a weekday to see a doctor for a cold / cough I've had for a week, with fever, sore throat, nasal congestion, suspecting that I might have a sinus infection. The doctor prescribed antibiotics, suggested Neti Pot, Sudafed, and taking pro biotics with the antibiotic, which I appreciated.

I highly recommend Care Practice. I've been using this practice for many years both for regular medical care and for urgent care. The rates are very reasonable given the high quality care of the doctors and the availability to go in on weekends and within the same day for urgent matters. They do not bill insurance, but they will give you a detailed receipt to submit to your insurance directly. When I had my previous insurance, my insurance covered 80% of the appointment fee. My new insurance has a high deductible, so my appointment fees won't be reimbursed, but I can submit my receipts

This "care" practice has nothing to do with "care". They are extremely rude, condescending, and have provided me with an experience poor enough to write this on Yelp. Forget all of the reviews That are 5stars for them- those are pushed from employees and clients to boost their overall and hide the real ones like myself. I cannot believe I wasted this time. Avoid at all costs. Garbage people and practice.

Dr Blackledge is by far one of the most compassionate and caring physicians I have ever met. He is not driven by revenue or recognition--he is truly a one of a kind doctor. His staff can only be described as "amazing". In the relatively short time I have been under his care--they have pulled off 3 zingers that I venture to say not any other practice could perform. Dr Blackledge is getting ready to start monitoring patients health and well being remotely with some cutting edge applications. I have signed up for the service--it will be interesting to see how it unfolds...I am certain that I will

I had such a positive experience here today. I am in San Francisco from out of town and also in a gap month between jobs and insurance. A hematoma from 3 months ago suddenly became very infected while I was here and I was in a total panic about going to an UR/Urgent Care in a city I'm not familiar with without health insurance.
I was able to make an appointment within half an hour and be seen within the hour and left feeling taken care of and really relieved. I enjoyed the transparency of costs and it was so much more affordable than other care options.

Care Practice is like everyone else, flawed. That's fine. It's how we handle our flaws that defines us though, and at least one doctor who is a member of the Care Practice team has failed to live up to the first tenant of medicine: "do no harm".
Every experience I had with Care Practice tells me one thing: the administrative staff there really does seem to care. They were polite and respectful at all times, and tried their best to help me out as another human being. My hat is tipped in their direction.

Amazing place! Dr. Radha Lewis is a true gem.
I've been suffering from cystic acne for well over a decade. Working for the cosmetics industry, my skin is on the spotlight. People feel the need to point out their recommendations and although it's a nice gesture, it takes a major toll on my self esteem. Anyways, as I started talking about the reason I came in, I started crying (yes it's that bad!). Dr. Lewis was genuinely comforting and listened, never cut me off like other doctors do. With no med insurance, she went over best options for me along with price differences. Came home

I have mixed thoughts here.
I'd give them five starts for same day service and I can get in and out quickly.
However, last time I was there they prescribed me a homeopathic remedy for my injured finger.
Homeopathic remedies are snake oil and aren't regulated by the FDA.
According to Wikipedia:

*COUGH* When I got sick, I called my regular medical office to find that my doctor was on leave. I went searching for a new office that I could pay directly. Being that I am an avid Yelper, I searched and picked this place based on the review.
Just so happens you also get $50.00 off your office visit when you mention Yelp. I scheduled an appointment online using the website and headed down to Care Practice.
So when I get there, it's a beautifully decorated office with cool books on the table. I checked in and as soon as I settled in, my Doctor was calling. Sad to say, I'm really not

I came here only after my own urgent care place couldn't take me on a Saturday. Made an appointment online, got a Yelp discount, saw a doc and his med student for like 15 minutes and he said I just had a little cold virus and would be soon without antibiotics soon. He gave me a script just incase the fever were to shoot up again but told me only fill it if I have to. Their receptionist was super and she guided me through the insurance paperwork I'd have to file soon.
