There are so many things to see and do here in Newton County that you could spend weeks and would not be able to cover everything that the area has to offer! In 1998, Governor Mike Huckabee officially proclaimed Newton County the "Elk Capital of Arkansas". Herds of elk roam our river valleys at Boxley Valley, Steel Creek, Kyle's Landing, Erbie, Ozark, Pruitt, and Hasty.
Little Switzerland is a great place for rollicking group gatherings. In the "Hollow" we have a covered pavilion, two large BBQ pits, picnic tables, lawn chairs and a fire ring where your gang can get together, cook out, build a camp fire and have a great time. Lots of groups rent all of our cabins which will sleep a total of 14 people and there's plenty of room in each for a pallet on the floor to sleep some of the younger generation.

We had a wonderful experience with this place! They were so patient and accommodating, especially after us having to change reservation dates 3 different times due to weather and covid. It was exceptionally clean and comfortable, and in a great location!! Close to Jasper and the elk herds, and not too far from Harrison. We will definitely be staying here again!

We really enjoyed our visit to Jasper and the cabin. Took a weekend just before Memorial day to get away. The grass around the cabin hadn't been mowed in quite a while and we ended up getting ticks on us when we let our dog out. It was very clean inside but no kitchen, which seemed odd. They did have a microwave and outside grill but no kitchen supplies, so make sure to bring your own. Always great outdoor activities in the area such as hiking and kayaking/canoeing. Just a great place to get outdoors!

Our experience and stay were amazing! Only wish we had more time to spend at the chalet because it was so spacious and cozy. There was enough room for everyone to have their own space. The place was awesome. We had everything we needed and it was very clean and modern. Couldn't be more pleased. I know we definitely will book this place again and make sure we give ourselves enough time to enjoy the place more. Thank you for everything!
