And all three. What do you do when creditors from your spouse's past threaten? Chances are your first reaction is to put the title to your biggest assets in just your name. Whew! Safe. Not. Just because the deed to the house now reads Jane. Do nothing and twenty-five percent of your after-tax earnings will be sent to your judgment creditor.

Plan before filing bankruptcy and you get better, more certain relief. Even if you're not quite sure that you're ready to take the bankruptcy plunge, scout the bankruptcy territory. Take some time to learn the rules and explore ways to maximize the relief available in bankruptcy. If you don't plan ahead and just rush into.
Is your Chapter 13 plan paying back mortgage payments that were delinquent when you filed bankruptcy? If so, a mortgage interest tax deduction lurks, unclaimed, in the trustee's records. Track down that tax deduction, add it to your tax return, and you reduce your federal income tax burden. But it's difficult because, for reasons I.
Twenty years ago this month, Soapbox's parent website, Bankruptcy In Brief, went live with four. Two trends in the housing crisis are intersecting in my practice: we're seeing more loan. Peter Mullison proposes in a recent article, that there are five types of people one should. The automatic stay is the signature feature of American bankruptcy, but the stay has important.
Every client filing bankruptcy asks that question: how long will bankruptcy take? Probably, the real question is "when will this be over?" Like so many questions in the law, the answer is "it depends." From filing bankruptcy to discharge In a Chapter 7, filing to discharge is about four months; in Chapter 13 it's three.

I was recommended by my lawyer friend, who I know for over 20 years now. I am from Sunnyvale area and I would have probably never looked in to finding some one Redwood City Area. Thank you Jeff for connecting me with Cathy Moran.
My initial call was answered By Anne. She was pleasant and helpful.
Cathy & Renee, both worked on my case to make sure everything was taken care as it should be. Tommy was working remotely but was very responsive. Overall great experience.

I retained Moran Law Group for legal advice while I was in the process of purchasing a home that was under bankruptcy. It didn't take too long for me to realize that I needed a legal expert to help me understand my rights as a buyer and to ensure that I made the right moves.
I selected Cathy Moran based on a google search of attorneys who were familiar with real estate under bankruptcy laws, and in particular Section 363. Choosing Cathy was a no-brainer given her many well-written posts online and her clear, articulate verbal communications and reasoning on the phone.

Moran Law Group was highly recommended by my accountant so I came in with high expectations. Let me tell you.. I am one satisfied client. I felt very well taken care of by Cathy's team (Anne, Tommie-lyn, Renee and Cathy herself). I came in feeling overwhelmed and defeated because of my limited knowledge about the law and my options, but the team walked me through every step (without making me feel stupid). They made the process as painless and smooth as possible for me, and for this I am grateful.
I’ve read some negative reviews about their fees. I obviously disagree given my 5 star rating of

Cathy Moran is simply "The Best." Professional by every standard with a personal touch. Cathy is great at explaining things clearly and always keeping you in the loop. Her response time is second to none and she does get results. Quality representation at a fair price. Best wishes for much success to Cathy & Moran Law Group.

I found myself in a wildly unfortunate situation and had no idea how to navigate the complexities of the bankruptcy world. I did my research and sought after the most qualified bankruptcy team I could find in the SF Bay Area. Cathy, Renee, and Anne were phenomenal — walking me through the process, making me feel at ease, and providing me with everything I needed to get my case taken care of. Of course, my final peace of mind came upon the completion of my case, but had I not worked with the team at Moran Law Group, I would have spent several more months stressed out and underwater. Thank you
