As of 10-26-2021, OB-GYN Physicians and Specialists for Women will merge to become one practice. The new name will be OB-GYN Specialists for Women. During this transition, there will be no change to the quality of care that you are now receiving. Thank you for your support during this transition and we look forward to seeing you soon! We provide Obstetrical and Gynecological services at Sentara Obici Hospital and Southampton Memorial Hospital.
Services
OB-GYN Physicians has provided more than 50 years of service to the women of the area. We value each and every patient and do our utmost to make you feel comfortable while attending to your healthcare needs. The wellness examination is recommended at least once a year or every 2 years depending on your age, starting as early as age 13.
A wellness examination provides essential preventive care. It is recommended women begin complete wellness exams at the age of 21, earlier if the patient is sexually active. A wellness exam protects your health by detecting early signs of potential problems before they have had the chance to develop into something more serious.
Our team, at OB-GYN Physicians, provides comprehensive care before, during, and after your pregnancy. We are here to protect the health of both you and your baby, and answer all the questions you have about your changing body during pregnancy. You will come to the office throughout your entire pregnancy.
The first visit to a gynecologist for teenage girls should be scheduled between the ages of 13-15 years. The first visit does not include a pelvic exam, so there is no need to feel anxious. There is no need to get a pelvic examination before the age of 21, unless symptoms indicate a problem or you're sexually active and need birth control.
Perimenopause is the time before menopause when estrogen levels begin to drop and menstrual cycles become irregular. Many women enter perimenopause in their 40s. While this phase usually lasts three to five years, its length is different for each woman. Every woman experiences menopause uniquely. Some have mild symptoms lasting only a few months, while others go through years of hot flashes, cold sweats, and mood swings.

I went here today to get my wellness check to get my birth control renewed. I was nervous because this place has mixed reviews on other sites but it was actually super good. Nurse Practitioner Rita was suuuper great and offered to meet with me before i put on the gown so I'd feel more comfortable and she seems so caring and nice. Nothing hurt and she calmed my nerves a lot. Plus since no one trusts anything in franklin there's hardly a wait lol.

Currently been frequenting this practice for the past four months. Decor is nice and calming. The front desk and back office staff are always very nice and courteous. The nurses are experienced and I can see they enjoy their profession. I've seen two doctors and one Certified Nurse Midwife and I have no complaints. I don't spend very long with the doctors in the appointments but they are available and will stay and answer any questions I may have. Wait time in the back isn't all that long either. All in all, very professional and welcoming environment.
