Services
Chicago Bagel & Deli, formerly known as Daily Bagel, started in the early 90's by Bagel artisan Julius Goldman with local and California investors. Mark, our son and baker, became Julius Goldman's apprentice at the early age of 22. Under the wing of Julius, Mark learned the culinary art from start to finish.
Two eggs cooked to order served with your choice of bacon, ham or sausage and toast or bagel with butter & jelly or plain cream. 3 slices - made with our homemade challah bread. 3 slices of our challah bread French toast, 2 eggs cooked to order and your choice of bacon, ham or sausage. Nova, cream cheese, tomato, red onion, and capers on your choice of bagel.

Great bagels. This place might not look like much on the outside, but there is plenty of great stuff on the inside. On this visit, I got the Blueberry, Chocolate Chip, and the French Toast. They're the real deal, crunchy shell on the outside, chewy on the inside.
The blueberry was a bit underwhelming with flavor. Maybe that's the way an authentic bagel should be compared to the super flavorful bagels from other places, but I found it a bit lacking. However, the chocolate chip was full of chips and have a very solid chocolate flavor throughout.

The only place to get bagels!! I'm afraid to review because I wish I could have everything to myself! Best bagels in San Antonio by far and as good or better than New York. Then there is the Lox and the Cinnamon Rolls on the weekends. Coming here is my favorite day of the week. It's all I can do not to buy everything. They have bagel specials with homemade cream cheese and you can buy day old awesome killer bagels to get you through the week. The place is tiny but the staff is great. Bagels are crispy on the outside and soft and chewy in the inside but not too heavy, just right. They make breakfast

Today was my first time ever at this establishment I ordered the star club the everything bagel and the French toast 10/10. I loved everything from the service to the food. I wanted to take pictures but everything was too good not to eat. Everything felt so light and usually when I finish a meal I feel full and heavy but not today I was full but the meal felt light and lovely.

While nothing was inherently wrong with the food there just wasn't a lot of flavor in it. We appreciated that the bagels were cut in half. Food was warm and the portions were reasonable. It's just hard to get excited about a bagel that tastes store bought and some cream cheese. There wasn't anything about the bagel that seemed fresh or particularly enticing.
