The Mountain View is a small and friendly motel and campground located in the heart of Buffalo Wyoming. The motel consists of classic 1920's vintage log cabins that are finished in pine paneling and decorated in a western motif. All of the cabins have a HD 1080p LED TV with over 75 channels of HD Cable Television, microwaves, refrigerators, and WiFi internet.
All of the cabins face a shaded courtyard. The motel has been continuously in operation since the 1920's, and the trees (both deciduous and pine) in the courtyard have grown to provide a tranquil canopy for the entire property. In the courtyard, there are two gas grills, several tables and chairs, and a chiminea fireplace available for our guests.

You have to be a little adventurous but this place is really a gem. Off-beat but very fun, and super affordable. Owner was exceptionally friendly, however she did mention that the place may come under new management eventually so I can't speak to what it will be like in the future. Enjoy it while you can!

We booked three nights at the RV campground but left on arriving at the site. The site was a combination of gravel, dirt and grass and in poor condition. Surrounding the site were a handful of permanent RVs with various junked vehicles, tools and other debris scattered about. Quite a few dogs, most in a permanent state of excitement, and the smell was noticeable. There were no bathrooms or showers.
We witnessed another camper arrive, check out the site and depart without staying the night.
Looking at the positive, the staff were friendly and helpful and the location is excellent - a ten minute

Mountain View Motel and Campground was like going back to the 50's and 60's auto courts. Very nice and rustic. Cabins (single) are small and comfortable. The rooms are air conditioned and heated to keep you comfortable depending on the season. This is a rustic motel with history going back to the late 20's. Updates have been made throughout the years and continue.
The owners and staff were very courteous and friendly. I would recommend this establishment to those that like nostalgia and history.

Terrible place. Got here after a long day of driving not expecting much because it was under $100 but at least a clean bed and room. Definitely wasn't clean, the beds are definitely not cleaned or changed here there was a ton of elderly people hair all through the bedding and all over the floor with dead bugs strewn about and the room just had an overwhelming smell of urine. We ended up sleeping in our car cause it was so disgusting. You can set out a million York Peppermint patties and I still would stay here ever again, if I could give it zero stars I would.

Lovely people who run/own the facility. We just came in for an overnight stay in our van. Not much for facilities but that's not what we needed. Location was very convenient over the other options we looked at in Buffalo as this campground was just much more walkable to the town and City Park, where the river and trail system is. We'd stay here again when coming through Buffalo.

I have been to this motel a couple of times now. Simple but quaint log cabins in small western town, just a few blocks from downtown Buffalo. Cabin was comfortable and warm during my winter visit. I've been there in the spring as well, when there are flowers hanging all around. Staff is very friendly and I always feel safe. Lots of modern updates such as rainfall shower, flat screen TV, portable range top, microwave/convection oven, and refrigerator. Short drive and you're in the mountains.
