Services
In my more than 20 years as a therapist, I can remember only a few people who have come to therapy about issues not related to relationships. More than 95% of the people I've worked with have wanted better relationships, and I've helped most of them achieve that in some way. I became a psychotherapist in the mid-1990s after having two other careers that were interesting and fulfilling, but that I just wasn't passionate about.
You are here because you are feeling low. Either a long-term significant relationship eludes you, or you have ended a relationship that wasn't working. The result-depression, anxiety, stress, and emotional pain. Relationship therapy can help. Are you single and depressed or anxious because you have reached a "certain age" and are still not in a healthy, long-term relationship?.
Are you feeling unusually sad, overwhelmingly tired, even hopeless, making it impossible to enjoy your relationships?. Are low moods and lack of energy interfering with your capacity to develop and maintain fulfilling relationships? Are you continually feeling depressed because relationship patterns learned in childhood just aren't working in your adult life?
Have you experienced the physical signs of anxiety: heart pounding, excessive sweating, or shallow breathing? Has your career development slowed because you are anxious in meetings, when speaking to a group, or in relationships with colleagues?. Are you uncomfortable and stressed in social situations and in developing close relationships?.
Are you having difficulty making decisions about what to do next because of the anxiety or depression caused by your situation?. As a couple, are you having problems communicating and supporting each other through this difficult time?. Questions like "How long to we try this treatment before we move on?" or "What do we tell others about our situation?"
