So tasty! I am a vegetarian and have trouble finding good options here in Ames. This place has some of the best options I’ve seen! My girlfriend and I got sandwiches, sides, and drinks for $20. Great place if you’re broke to get good food.

The white bean chicken chili is…..to die for. Empty container for evidence of deliciousness. Also, hot ham and cheese on an onion bun….yes

You gonna spend $10-$16 here but it really good sandwiches and they are huge.

They gave me a horrible sandwich the other day but it wasn't what I ordered, they were making two sandwiches but I guess that's difficult to keep track of. Maybe if you get what you ordered it's good. Keep an eye on your sandwich at all times.
Edit: could not let staff know or exchange order because I didn't know about it until I was back at work. Long, hungry day.

Lacking any and all flavor. Overpriced sandwich shop. If there wasn't a college in town, I doubt it would survive.
The best thing about the joint, is the crushed ice out of the soda fountain.

When I die, I want to be buried with a Cajun Tofu sandwich from West Street Deli in my hands. This place is the best. Ever. The worst (but maybe the best??) decision I made in college was moving to a house that required me to walk past West Street on my way to class. I'll never regret spending 70% of my paycheck here.

Love West Street Deli. The sandwiches are large and delicious and the prices are low. The variety of breads and buns offered makes for a unique experience. The sandwiches are carefully hand-crafted and made to order. I'd go back in a heart beat!

Still 5/5 but I had to give some love to my favorite Ames locals especially during COVID. Went here today and experienced the patio!!! Never sat outside before but today was beautiful! LOVE the patio, it was a perfect way to enjoy my delicious Reuben sandwich.

This is a pretty good sandwich spot. The sandwiches are huge and the sides are really good. I wish the cookies were a little less crunchy though. This is a really cool place that is neat on the inside. I would go again.

West Street Deli has some fantastic sandwiches! You get a lot of food with tons of options, the price is very reasonable, and the staff have always been friendly! Awesome place to go for a sandwich in Ames, highly recommended!

Extravagant! Every sandwich served at this blessed deli is crafted with perfectly proportionate ingredients which work to create a scrumptious symphony of flavours that you'll want to listen to over and over. The service was snappy and the staff were beyond accommodating, kind and intelligent. This establishment's presence in Ames makes me ecstatic to be moving to this city in the Fall. I wholeheartedly intend on returning to this wonderful shop.

You will not find more finely crafted, hand made, delicious sandwiches anywhere around Ames. West Street Deli has a wide selection of incredible food, with frequent specials so that even a regular has something new to look forward to. The polite and helpful staff can walk you through any questions, and it's in an excellent location near campus, but a little off the beaten path so you don't feel like you're in the thick of it all.

Tried West Street deli for the first time, went with the Club sandwich, its delicious and its HUGE! With a bottle if soda pop, it was $12 even, nice quiet enviroment on a summer sat. afternoon, reminds me of Great Plains Sauce and Dough company inside seating, also has outside on sidewalk seating. Streetside parking, also in back...😀

I took my mom there about a month ago, they have incredible food. But the fact of how helpful they were with my mom is so heartwarming! My mom is 78 she started getting weak as we were heading for a table. I was carrying food, the guy that works there helped to the table and out the door later when I went to get the car!

This unique deli is my favorite spot for a sandwich in Ames. You can either get a sandwich with combos they have come up with or you can create your own for a little less. I like to explore their combo sandwiches because they usually end up pretty tasty. Sides do not come with the sandwich, however, the sandwich itself will fill you up. I've tried the chili and Mac & cheese before, both are great additions to your meal. Be careful with the chili because when they say spicy they mean it. Customer service is great, you can add anything onto a combo sandwich at no extra charge and they will

West St Deli was a staple for me when I went to Iowa State. Came back here recently and the quality has gone down since my last trip there, or was just here on a bad day for them. They have expanded on the inside, and now have more options for sandwiches and bread.

We got a Chicken bacon ranch sandwich on focaccia, the potential for a great sandwich was there, chicken had no flavor and couldn't taste the bacon. We also got a chicken salad sandwich too, it was lacking of what it used to taste like, more like plain chicken with not much mayo mixed in.

West Street Deli is my go to restaurant whenever I'm craving for quick bites. The staff is friendly, cozy atmosphere, and great food varieties. I would highly recommend their steak and egg.
