Summary - get full clarification of what the facility can and cannot do as far as care. Also, what you can expect to be accountable for with regard to"Assisted Living".
I had advised Waterford of my father's weakened conditon as we moved through negotiations. We were told he would be okay as long as he was "one person transfer" status. He became ill between Waterford's evaluation (which he passed) and move day. They advised to take him to the hospital. We had done that. We had hoped he would recover. On move day his condition had not improved and we had moved all of my folk

The director has the most non caring personality I have ever seen. They are not set up to deal with Dementia or Alzheimers patients in my words at all. The director could care less about any problems you bring to her attention. Her attitude was what do you want us to do, people fall all the time. What do you want us to do " tie them to the bed " was her comment to me. My mother has fallen three times that I know of in just a couple years. My mothers room looks like it hasn't been cleaned in a month. Bathroom smells bad also. New staff all the time, looks like a high turnover with them. If anyone

My experience as an employee has been wonderful. The staff works very well together for the care of the residents, putting their needs first. Our Executive Director and Department Directors work well together to make The Waterford in Smyrna a wonderful place to be! I would recommend The Waterford in Smyrna for an employer and for Elder Care.
