Saffron Cafe & Bakery

We ordered catering for our post wedding brunch. We tried to email the catering email address on the website, which apparently no one manages. Then we called to confirm. Put our order in well before the 48 hours they require and was told it would be ready by 10 on the day. It was not. It was 45 minutes late, making us late to our own brunch. The egg sandwiches were not on the English muffins we ordered, they didn’t have all the pastries and no one even apologized for any of it. I would never recommend using them for catering and truthfully the service is enough to never want to go back at all

They appear to be under staffed. The woman behind the counter is too busy handling the dining room orders to take care of customers at the counter causing long wait and long lines.

The bakery items are delicious, and the food is pretty good.
Monique was a great server! We ate and drank here before going to the aquarium for a birthday, it was worth the visit! We will come here again for the cheese cake if we're ever in town.

The ham and cheese croissant was really good. They heated it up for us and it just melted in our mouth. The other breakfast pastries were decent but the ham croissant was our favorite. The staff was friendly and welcoming.

The corner breakfast stop. Great menu items. Food is well made and V plentiful. Great way to start v your day. And I'd you're not on a diet the treats look amazing.

Easy phone reservation and quick seating. It went downhill from there. Not the place to be if you are in any kind of a rush.


Our server was nice enough but not very attentive. She pretty much dropped our food and ran away. We had to hunt her down for everything we needed. Then again, it seemed like she was the only person on duty and she had several tables.

I was unpleasantly surprised to find that although they are listed as "gluten free friendly" and are a bakery they had no GF bread options at all.

Generous portions, great price, tasty food, courteous and helpful staff. This is the perfect place to stop for a satisfying meal. I assure you you will not regret your visit here.

To food was good. The salad mentioned "rice noodles" but they were not real noodles, kinda deceiving. The waitress also forgot the pastry I asked for. Other than that good service and welcoming environment.

Friendly staff, food was delicious and came out quickly. Our waitress came by to check in on us and provided our check in a timely manner.

We were looking for a place to grab a late lunch. We were in the area and Saffron Cafe seemed like a solid choice.

They have indoor and outdoor seating.

They have a great selection of pastries and desserts. Everything looked so good.

I ordered a gyro and fries. The food was so good! The lamb was tender and delicious. The seasoning on the fries was great. My friends enjoyed their food as well. I had the strawberry shortcake for dessert. The strawberries were fresh. The cake and whipped cream was light.

The prices are reasonable.

They have $3.50 mimosas! And they come in three flavors

Dinner was beautifully fragrant and deliciously healthy, however, the cream puff and coffee ☕ were heaven. Thanks to my lovely waitress and the thoughtful baker that made dinner alone not lonely. Traveling for work can be difficult but they made it feel like home. One caviot, the parking is abysmal; be prepared to walk, but it is worth it.

We went to Saffron based off the recommendation of the concierge at the property we are staying at when I had inquired about somewhere I could get coffee and pastries. He also mentioned that they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner so we went and checked them out for brunch.

The hubs ordered the build your own omelette with swiss cheese, onions, mushrooms and sausage. There had to have been 1 small sausage link that was cut into 4 pieces to form the meat part of the omelette. The Swiss cheese was nice and melty and the mushrooms and onions seemed to have been sautéed in butter, before being added

We went there for the first time for lunch and it was okay. I recommend their breakfast over their lunch. The dessert was good and they have a variety. They do offer free parking. Plenty of space in the restaurant to sit and enjoy your food.

Spacious dining area with a good selection of entrees and a large dessert selection. They also have a handful of parking spots in their lot right on East Bay.

We decided to eat here for lunch after a morning at the Aquarium with our girls. We got there and waited for the table to be cleaned, then sat down. We waited, waited, and finally after almost 30 minutes, I mentioned to the host that a waiter had not come to see us yet. A waiter finally came, took our drink order and appetizer, and it was almost 20 minutes before we got that. Finally ordered our food, and it was now an hour and 15 minutes after we were 1st seated. The food was okay (never had brown gravy in shrimp and grits), and my wife had to go to the car because the baby was sleepy. You would

This place has an incredible selection of desserts. All of them looked so tasty it is really hard to choose what to get. We liked the chocolate lovers which is a chocolate cheesecake dipped in chocolate. The food is OK but nothing to write home about. I got the gyro which was so so but the fries were delicious.

Best shrimp and grits I tasted in Charleston. The gravy was brown and seasoned well with large tender shrimp. Turkey melt with salad was a favorite. The chicken and steak kabobs were well prepared with the perfect seasoning along with vegetables. The staff was friendly and knew the menu along with favorites. The selection of desserts is enough to keep you coming back. A delightful selection for brunch and dinner or just dessert!

Saffron is always a treat for breakfast or brunch. Everything is fresh and flavorful and perfectly portioned. Their patio is perfect for weekend brunch and I could spend hours drooling over their dessert case!

When I tell you THIS IS THE PLACE FOR CAKES, this IS the place for cakes! For years I have been buying whole cakes for my kids for their birthdays. The chocolate mousse, triple chocolate, red velvet, you name it. They DO NOT disappoint!

You want a girls attention, bring her a slice of that chocolate mousse cake. It's legit.
