Ankle sprains are caused by an unnatural twisting or force on the ankle bones of the foot, often resulting in one or more ligaments on the outside of the ankle to be stretched or torn. If not properly treated, ankle sprains could develop into long-term problems. Bunions are misaligned big toe joints that can become swollen and tender, causing the first joint of the big toe to slant outward, and the second joint to angle toward the other toes.
All our professionals maintain the highest levels of accreditation and pursue ongoing education to stay abreast of the latest trends in the medical field.

Dr. Shelli Brewington is a podiatric surgeon and Lumbee native who served her internship at Cooper University Hospital followed by a comprehensive three-year surgical residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX with an emphasis in diabetic limb salvage/ reconstruction and lower extremity trauma.

What a wonderful and uplifting environment for healing. I recently was assigned to Dr. Brewington after almost a year of being in a boot for a hairline fracture. Dr. Brewington and her entire team were so kind and professional and made everyone that walked through the doors feel like family. After about 3 visits to Dr. Brewington, I finally out of the boot and back into regular feet attire. Thanks Mission Foot and Ankle for accepting me and taking great care of me.

Five stars and a standing ovation! Dr. Shelli at Mission Foot and Ankle performed two stellar Lapiplasty 3D Bunion Corrections- and during this covid pandemic no less! The whole staff followed all covid protocols to a T and I felt safe every time I went in! they were kind and cheerful, often running to get the door for me when I came in on crutches.
I am so completely pleased with the results. Right and Left foot done- range of motion is spectacular and all the pain I went in with (my bunions had been hurting prior to surgery) is GONE! I can't tell you how amazing it feels to have feet that are

I had an issue with my feet for 11 yrs due to wearing steel toed boots and walking on concrete everyday for 8 1/2 yrs. After my first appointment a month ago, I no longer have to walk on the sides of my feet. It feels great to walk "normal"again! I totally recommend that anyone having any kinds of issues with their feet, this is the place to go! Thank you everyone at Missions for being fast and very polite. Again, thanks for everything!
