Dan Moncayo, Solar Consultant/Manager, helped to establish Home Performance Matters back in 2010 with co-founder Andrew Durben.
Together they established an award-winning energy efficiency construction business based in Claremont, CA. We've been installing solar panels on residential roofs since 2010 and we love to meet new customers and help them with custom solar solutions. We specialize in designing solar panel projects that meet our customer's consumption and budget goals. 1. We gather 12 months of utility bill history and we build a custom proposal that shows the recommended solar system size, layout, and financial analysis.
In addition to residential solar installations, HPM Solar is proud to consult and partner with various commercial and nonprofit entities to provide high quality, tier one, solar panel installation solutions. Past customers include motels, small office buildings, and retirement centers. In 2018 HPM Solar installed a 650kW solar installation on the Pilgrim Place Senior Living campus in Claremont, California.
HPM Solar partners with a few local lenders who provide low-interest loans and financing for solar installation projects. Our primary lending partner is Water and Power Community Credit Union because they do not require origination or dealer fees. You must live, work, worship, or go to school in LA County in order to qualify for the Water and Power Credit Union loans.
This is based on your monthly utility bills, long-term energy goals, and budget. Higher electricity consumers will see a faster payback on solar. Typically we recommend that you maximize available roof space while off-setting about 110% of current electricity consumption. This will help to mitigate the impact of new "TIME OF USE" rates and will allow for consistent electricity in future years when the solar panels production degrades slightly.

I am a retired general contractor and very critical of subcontractors. I received a personal reference for HPM Solar before I contacted them for an analysis of our roof and installation recommendations. Dan showed an excellent knowledge of the mounting system best suited for our roof and was very competitive in pricing. We selected the REC Solar Panels in all black and the panels just disappear on our roof. I am very pleased with the resulting power being generated.

We contracted with HPM Solar to install solar on our roof. We are completely satisfied. The installation took 2 days, and they left the yard and house as better than before. The new conduits etc look very professional. I am happy with the micro inverters and panels selected and our ability to see the systems performance anytime. What is really notable though, is that they were very transparent and honest in their pricing. I realized my system wasn't relaying the data to the Enlighten website, and Isaac took time out of his day to troubleshoot the problem and figure out that my older wifi transmitter wasn't syncing. He researched the solution and helped me get everything back on track.

Dan and his HPM crew did an amazing job from start to finish with my solar panels. Dan spent over an hour walking me through the process of figuring out what I needed based on my energy bills and came up with a perfect plan and the perfect panels. Dan Moncayo -- Just want you to know I received a text from MPower Energy asking if I received a settlement bill from CA Edison of over $500. It took me by surprise. I just received a $185 check from the power conservation group under Edison. A settlement bill?!? Yo No! I get money back!!! :). When I figure the amount I have paid extra monthly that includes the access fee, I have never paid more than the access fee or nothing. Issac and Dan were an amazing team to help us on our new solar project. We have been wanting to install solar panels for a long time. Unfortunately, all companies that approached us were simply interested in one thing: closing out the sale. They did not care about what our needs were nor did they take the time to explain what we would be signing up for and committing to. One particular company even went to the extent of false advertising, quoting incorrect figures, and requesting us to sign for a credit check and a pre-approved loan that we never requested or applied for. HPM Solar was recommended to us by a friend who is a physics professor and knowledgeable about solar panels and systems. We received a comprehensive proposal from Dan as well as clear answers to all of our questions. The price was competitive. Installation was on schedule, with no problems or extra costs. Dan and HPM solar were wonderful to work with. I have never had a more responsive contractor. He explained thing very thoroughly and presented various options but never pressured. I even recommended him to my sister who also got solar panels from him. We are very happy with the final product! Also you should definitely do it sooner rather than later because of the awesome federal tax credit.

HPM Solar installed our system in late 2019 (maximizing the tax credit). Dan and Isaac were excellent to deal with. They delivered for every commitment, the costs came in as promised, and the results have been excellent--I've generated an electricity credit virtually every month since installation. So, Dan sized and designed the system optimally and Isaac and the installation team executed excellently. I strongly endorse HPM--they delivered on everything we discussed and more!

I resisted solar panels for years because of "Hard Sell Tactics", dishonest company claims, and pricing.
That was before I met Dan, and HPM Solar. Not only impressed with the presentation and pricing, but his knowledge and concern for delivering quality product and workmanship. Fantastic company. Great integrity, values, and service. HPM installed solar on two different houses for me over the years. In both cases they were professional, provided industry expertise, personal consultation, and a great result where I could maximize my ROI. I’ve recommended them to family members who have been equally satisfied. Solar is one of the best investments I’ve made for cash flow, retirement, etc..
