I stopped by to pick up some special treats for my husband and my lunch recently. This cute, little spot was so warm and inviting. The young man assisting me was knowledgeable and kind. He had great recommendations. We loved everything we tried! Especially the simple, yet delicious loaded bread. Can't wait to return.

I was in search for pastries on a cold winter Sunday morning. I wanted something soft, sweet and delicious. After trying multiple places with dense muffins and hard or savory scones, I found myself at Chako and they had quite the variety of beautiful treats behind the counter for myself and my family. To my delight, they were equally delicious to their beauty. I’ll definitely go back!

A great spot in Mainstrausee to have lunch.
Onigiri and karaage transported me back to my days living in Japan.
I haven't tried their cakes but will do on my next visit.
The staff is wonderful and very helpful.

This place was a must after seeing the menu - I'm a big fan of onigiri and I like to start my day with matcha instead of coffee. I also have a sweet tooth and their pastries looked amazing! I found street parking easy at 11:30am on a Thursday. I walked into a fairly small shop with two lovely ladies working away. I ordered the katsu & onigiri lunch with miso soup, 4 salmon onigiri to go, and a bunch of pastries! I got a pumpkin roll, a matcha muffin type pastry, a twisted bread pastry that had purple potatoes in it, and a savory vegetable pastry that was similar to focaccia bread. I also

Chako is amazing and truly authentic! We lived in Japan for a few years and I haven’t had anything close to this since moving back to the US in 2017. Kaarage sando was delicious and a generous portion size, shaved ice was just the right amount of sweetness (and not the bottled fake dyed sugar on most US shaved ice!), and customer service was top notch! The raspberry melon pan was my favorite from just one visit. Can’t wait to go back again soon to try more!

The bake stuff was good and the food are good as well. I am rating this low because of the service. We ordered bake stuff and lunch food and coffee. Our coffee came in late and half a cup. Our lunch food came even more late as they forgot our order until we had to remind them. We watched several customers who came in before us got served, while we patiently waited for our order. We had to remind the server we have not received our lunch orders yet. The website said they opened in 2017, but their process doesn't reflect that.

I was thrilled to hear about Chako's bakery- delicate roll cakes and other lovely baked goods did not disappoint. I went to get roll cakes for a party but couldn't help ordering an onigiri karaoke combo, which was delicious! Looking forward to going back again soon for a lunch date to try more items on the menu.

Such a wonderful cafe! Delicious food and pastries -- the lunch sets are to die for! -- and a beautiful tiny cafe. There is a peaceful and nice seating area in the back, super quiet and pleasant. Customer service top notch! What's more, Chako-san (the proprietress) is starting up her cooking classes again in June! So excited to sign up!

We have been wanting to try Chako for a long time and I'm so glad we came by. Not only was the food delicious, the women running the counter were so kind and helpful. If you are considering visiting Chako please go give them all your support because it is such a unique and special little shop with some really sweet women who run it. We will most definitely be back to try more things on the menu.

Wonderful little cafe in the Cincinnati metro area! I've been wanting to try it for some time but live on the other side of town. Finally took the day to drive over the river and try it. I got the onigiri and karaage combo with miso soup. Everything was yummy and I especially loved the soup. Also ordered a slice of the strawberry roll cake and it was probably one of the best cakes I have tasted. Not too sweet but delicious. Everything was very fresh and the 2 women working behind the counter were both kind and friendly. Also, Google says dine-in is not available currently but it is. They have a

I can't wait to come back here! Chako--the woman behind the name--was there to greet us on Sunday morning and she and her staff were all so incredibly sweet and informative. They went through all of their offerings and I literally wanted to buy everything, but had to show some constraint. I got a matcha sweet cake and a savory spinach twist to try out the opposite spectrums. The twist was great, but fell a little short for me, but the matcha cake? I can't describe to you the pure satisfaction I had eating this. I tried my best to savor and string out the bites for as long as I could and

Strolled passed this place before getting brunch with friends and decided to pop in. Chako bakes everything from scratch! Since I was visiting, I decided to get a few things to go. I bought a half loaf of fluffy bread, a spinach & bacon bun/roll, a pork bun, and a matcha bun. (I'm calling everything's a bun because I'm not exactly sure what it's called ‍). Spinach bacon was great, and the bread was super light and airy. The pork bun was super savory with shredded pork and green onion in what tasted like a teriyaki sauce...bread was again so delightfully light. Matcha bun

This place is heaven. i love everything about it, and the staff is so sweet and talented. the food is amazing. i'm sad i hadn't heard of them before covid but once it's safe i'm definitely going to go back and take some baking classes with them. Everything was so good and my only regret is i couldn't eat all i ordered fast enough to keep it fresh...
Also they're doing a great job social distancing for pick up. i sincerely hope they continue to thrive.

Cute little Japanese spot for both dining in and take away.
I was fooled by the name 'bakery', it is more an eatery with a lot of cakes.
When you enter, you are facing the fridge with a lot delicious and creamy treats. They are made more Japanese way, which is less sweet than what is normally served in the U.S. They offer whole cakes, as well as portioned treats.
Right next to the cake case there is a main counter with a small open kitchen behind.
I have to say, this type of spacial set up is not great, as it looks messy and uninviting. There is also a lot of different aromas coming

Chako Bakery is a cute Japanese pastry and bread shop. I had seen their name and pastries on Instagram which made me want to try them. While waiting for a table at Otto's my husband and I decided to walk around on Main St. We just happened to stumble upon Chako, so I certainly had to stop in and I'm glad I did. We were welcomed by warm and friendly staff. Even, Chako, the owner was in there and was super sweet. All of the staff was so nice and accommodating. They answered any questions I had. I asked the girl working the front to explain the cake roll flavors and she did with no problem

My new favorite place in Covington. Everything they have here is good. Their cakes, homemade bread, karaage (fried chicken), onigiri (rice balls), and their savory baked goods.
So happy to stumble across this place!
