DO NOT GET A PIERCING HERE! Got my daith pierced by Daniel back in May 2020. 8 months later the piercing was constantly irritated and randomly bleeding. Went to another piercer that told me it was placed wrong as well as had a 20g ring in it and that I should just take it out. Spent $80 to get duped!

I received a piercing from this shop last year and was left completely in the dark. I was charged $70 for a nose piercing. I have never had my nose pierced before so I had no idea what to do. I did not even receive a card until I asked the piercer what was I to do to care for the piercing. Never before having a nose piercing, I asked about other jewelry and was immediately brushed off and told “no” that there was no selection to choose from. I have spent years trying to find a tattooist that suits my style and also doesn’t have that uninviting weird setting most shops have, and I’ve found that at Black Torch. I have been a faithful customer of the owner Daniel for 5 years now and I am so honored to wear his work! Best quality traditional I’ve come across and I look forward to my yearly appointment all year long.

I live three hours away from this shop, but since my first visit many years ago to get tattooed by the owner, Daniel Mesen, I have not been tattooed by anyone else. I have been back for 4 additional tattoos & I… will never go anywhere else. Daniel always takes my ideas or images and comes back with something 10x better than what I could have ever imagined. His pricing is also fair and reasonable, and I feel like he takes into account that I drive so far to get tattooed by him (which that’s my choice, so I really respect that).

Daniel is amazing & quick. I’m obsessed with the small ones he has done on me & my one big one is to DIE FOR. Line work is great. The receptionist (blonde girl) was super friendly & welcoming. 10/10 recommend.

Daniel Mesen, the owner of Black Torch, was one of my clients at my veterinary clinic - which is how I found out about his business.
He is extremely easy to work with and has always been very polite, professional and talented at what he does. I booked an appointment with him, sent a deposit with no problem and was extremely happy with the work he… added to my sleeve (a wood duck). Which is why I have another appointment booked with him and it’s well worth the wait. Paying for quality work has never been an issue to me, you get what you pay for and Daniel kills it every time.

I always went to leviathan for all of my previous tattoos, and they are AMAZING. but when i tell you that when i got my moth tattoo from here, it was just over the top. daniel mesen literally drew up exactly what i wanted (and that’s special because i tend to be vague when explaining what i want) and just effortlessly tattooed the most beautiful moth i’ve seen in my whole life. the talent it takes is often overlooked but daniels talent truly shows. his rescheduling and non refundable deposits are simply business—and honestly— understandable. he worked around my anxiety and made me completely

I’ve had multiple tattoos by Daniel and all of them have been absolutely pleasant experiences. He’s very responsive, easy to schedule/work with, and fast at what he does. Every design he’s come up with for me has been perfect. Black Torch Tattoo is the only shop I ever recommend people to in Baton Rouge. Everyone here is truly talented and cares about their craft. I will continue to be a return client :)

Went for a simple nostril piercing. The shop is extremely clean, the staff is professional. I’m super picky about who works on my tattoos, and this shop will be where I go for my next one.
