Services
If you have never worn contact lenses, we will teach you the ropes of wearing contact lenses. During your contact lens exam, we will analyze your refractive prescription, evaluate your corneal health including your tears and your lids structures. Once we gather all the information that we need, we will discuss your expectations with contact lenses, and suggest the best lenses and care system for you.
At Florida Optical Services, our optometrists use an Advanced Refracting System that allows them to provide a more efficient exam that is simpler, smarter, and in our opinion, more exact than conventional vision exams. We also offer Comprehensive Digital Eye Examinations which maintain social distancing as well as access to several optometrists and ophthalmologists via telemedicine.
The Digital Single Vision Lenses provide a wider vision. This is significant if you have a high prescription. The Aspheric design improves clarity almost to the edge of the lens allowing the wearer to have almost no distortion when looking sideways. Conventional Progressive lenses provide narrower vision areas that limit your field of clear vision as well as add peripheral Distortion.
Frame soldering and some repairs require that your lenses be removed from the frame. The prescription must be identified prior by a licensed optician using a specialized instrument called a lensometer. The lenses when inserted back have to match the prescription. Any deviation to the right or left changes your script.
B.C. Opt. is Florida Board of Opticianry Certified to fit and adapt contact lenses. He specializes in hard-to-fit contact lenses and Low Vision aids. He fits all types of contact lenses, including keratoconus lenses, scleral lenses for dry eyes, and irregular corneas. Additional expertise in multifocal toric and high refractive errors.

My husband’s glasses got damaged the day before leaving the country. He is very dependent on them. I contacted this place late at night via email and they sent back their first appointment. The doctor fixed them perfectly and extremely quickly. Very, very satisfied with the service, its promptness and accuracy. Highly recommend. Will have them make new glasses when we return for a spare pair.

I finally found a person who is an expert with contacts. I can see again finally, after along time with many offices and different kinds. Extremely nice and easy office. Daniel Acosta is very nice and explains every action throughly. Follow up fittings explained very well also.

I walked in without an appointment and Dan helped me adjust my new glasses that was bought somewhere else. He was very knowledgeable and fixed the glasses to fit properly on my face. His knowledge was awesome and he made me feel happy even though I stopped by unexpectedly after he was closed for the day and still handled fixing my glasses. I will only go there for all my optical needs, I highly recommend someone so unconditional.

The two times that I have visited Florida optical services, Dan has provided exceptional, personalized service at an affordable rate, even without insurance. I was pleasantly surprised when he remembered small personal details about me. I had an eye exam a year ago here as well as the glasses I purchased. It was a nice experience, he was very helpful, especially with the almost hour I spent trying to pick out the right frame. Anyway, I went back this week to have my lenses fixed and he took care of me right away and went above and beyond for ordering my replacement lenses so I could still wear my glasses as I wait for the new ones. Good customer service. I've been wearing glasses and contacts for 20 years and have been to probably at least 15 different eye doctors, and he is one of my favorites in SWFL.

Florida Optical Services came to the rescue on a Saturday morning. My mom is in town for an eye surgery. On Saturday morning the screw came out of her glasses and the lens fell out. Even though Saturday services are by appointment, we called and were happily told we could be seen within a half hour. My mom's glasses were then fixed within minutes. Thanks to Florida Optical Services for saving our day in such a kind and caring manner!

Very good customer service. I called off hours in at 8am and my phone call was returned immediately, but I was informed that they were not open; however, the gentlemen informed me that they would be pleased to help with my broken frame at 10am. I showed up with a severely damaged frame, but it was fixed immediately! Thanks:) I would have had a miserable day without my glasses.

I purchased my glasses on 2/22/16 and picked them up two weeks later. While in the office I mentioned to Dan that I felt they were stronger than I thought they would be but left with then anyway feeling confident he knew best for my eyes. I tried to wear them home but had to take them off because I was not able to drive with them on. I got home and tried to do my homework and was unable to even make out the words and the computer was distorted. I called Dan and he said to try them for a week and to let him know. Fantastic experience, great chair-side manor. Both Dr's took the time and patience with me answering all my questions utilizing both old school and new age technology. Very thorough contact lens exam with follow ups. The office offers a very inviting feeling no hurry up to get you in and out like the last office I visited when my eye would not stop watering, you are not left feeling like just a file. I highly recommend a visit to this office or their 2nd location in Bonita or the first in Miami. Next visit I will design my own glasses to wear in between contacts.

Thats great that Dr. Swift can only post his resume as a response. Here is another challenge I offer to him. Collecting a fee for services AFTER the product has been provided. When I took ethics back during my clinical lab training, that is an important thing. Florida Optical Service however wants your money UPFRONT then gives you a product. Note to consumers; my glasses broke after two days, guess that tells a lot about the products Florida Optical Services sells.
