Pain is an unpleasant feeling or discomfort caused by injury, illness or emotional disorder. Acute pain results from a disease, inflammation, or injury. Our primary concern is to return patients to daily activities as soon as safely possible. It is also our goal to teach each patient how and why they were injured, and to prevent the injury from reoccurring.
Our mission is to treat all patients in a professional, timely manner. Optimal outcomes depend on accurate diagnosis, a complete explanation of treatment options and expectations and finally precise execution of the chosen treatment whether non-surgical or surgical. I have maintained a busy practice for over 20 years in the same location by striving for and fulfilling the goals described above.

The knee is a complex joint that can sustain a variety of injuries. Three bones, the end of each is covered in cartilage, meet at the knee: the kneecap (patella), the thighbone (femur), and the shinbone (tibia). Four ligaments (ACL, PCL, MCL, and LCL) hold the knee in place. The knee contains two discs of cartilage, called menisci, which help facilitate movement and add stability.

Trusted colleague who is readily available for urgent matters, makes every effort to communicate options with patients, and performs technically outstanding procedures with solid outcomes.Knows his stuff and presents information in a manner that is non-threatening yet gets the important points across. Is appropriately aggressive with trying to get patients the treatment needed to return to desired activities and pain-free living.

Hi,
About twelve years ago my wife wrecked her knee (torn ACL). I don't recall how or why we wound up with Dr. Marans. We liked him immediately. The surgery went well and she recovered quickly. Actually, it went so well that she forgot about her knee and has played tennis, golf, etc. for years without issue.
The other day she twisted it and fell down the stairs. As the knee hadn't been a concern for a long time, we forgot his name. Don't forget his name. It's Marans. He's a good doctor and a good man. We're going back to Dr. Marans.
