Since 1962, Oaklawn has provided comprehensive mental health and addiction services for children, adolescents and adults. In that time, we have grown from a small organization in Elkhart to four campuses in Elkhart and St. Joseph counties and nearly 900 employees.
Since 2006, Oaklawn has been under the direction of President and CEO Laurie N. Nafziger and Medical Director Daniel Kinsey, M.D. We offer a full range of mental health and addiction services and are continually adapting to meet the needs of our clients and communities.Oaklawn is sponsored by Mennonite Health Services, which is accountable to Mennonite Church USA, Mennonite Brethren and Brethren in Christ churches.

Oaklawn provides a full range of mental health and addiction services for children, adolescents and adults in Elkhart and St. Joseph counties. Our services include skills training and case management, individual and group therapy, psychiatric services, intensive residential programs for youth and inpatient treatment for adults.
Oaklawn offers specialized addiction treatment programs for adolescents and adults in Elkhart and St. Joseph counties. Our programs range from traditional to complex, including those who are addicted to more than one substance, people who have failed in other programs or people who are also facing a mental illness.
For some, mental health issues are temporary and circumstantial. For others, it's a lifelong journey. Oaklawn's team of expertly-trained professionals work with our clients to determine the best treatment, identify strengths and support goals for healthy living. Oaklawn offers 24/7 inpatient care for adults and seniors in Elkhart County at Cedars, our inpatient psychiatric unit in Goshen.
At Oaklawn, we care deeply about honoring and respecting an individual's faith and religious practices. Oaklawn is one of few organizations in the country to provide dedicated mental health services for the Amish community. Residential facilities are managed and staffed by local Amish, and Oaklawn clinicians provide treatment.
