A native of Norfolk Virginia, Bill relocated to Smith Mountain Lake in 1985 after becoming enamored by the serenity of the lake and the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains. A career entrepreneur, Bill retired in 2001 after a successful tenure as owner of the Roanoke branch of Restroom Sanitation Services.
He began pursuing his passions, and his love for gardening and trees were at the top of his list. He was captivated by the complexity of trees and his thirst for knowledge led him to volunteer his time and train under an ISA certified arborist. Bill has chased storms and tornados into areas devastated by falling trees.
