We are happy to be open and look forward to seeing you! We are a small vineyard, so reservations are appreciated, especially for groups over 6 and on holiday weekends. Strolling the vineyard with a bottle or glass is welcomed. BYO-blanket for a picnic and relax! We are thrilled to be part of a featured article on rose' wines in the current issue of Cultivate magazine!
MountainRose Vineyards would like to thank everyone who voted in Savor Virginia's Readers' Choice Awards this past fall. MountainRose won Best Winery in three categories: Sparkling Wine- Bronze, Dessert Wine- Silver and Cabernet Franc- Bronze. The Concord vines were so lovely in 2020. But wait. Something is missing!

Services
David's primary responsibilities involve selecting, planting and training the appropriate grape varieties for our microclimates. He has been growing grapes and apples for more than 20 years, and has been involved in the day-to-day operations of the business since its founding.
He completed an internship at Prince Michel's Winery one semester while studying engineering at Virginia Tech and completed several additional soil classes from Oregon State University. He initially learned many of his pruning and grafting skills from older orchard owners in the area, continuing to develop and refine those skills through annual workshops and training.

MountainRose Vineyards planted its first vines in 1996 with several varieties on the previously mined land. Eight varieties of grapes (white: Traminette, Riesling, Vidal Blanc, Seyval Blanc, Niagara, Rkatsiteli, and red: Chancellor, and Cabernet franc) now grow here. Another three acres of young vines (Coroir noir, Chancellor, Cab franc, and Pinot noir grapes) are in future production.
MountainRose Vineyard wines are very fruity, complex, and smooth because we are able to let our fruits get much riper than many grapes in the rest of Virginia. At our higher elevation of 2640 feet, we don't have the humidity problems which creates downy and powdery mildew problems for the rest of the state.
Much healthier than store or restaurant pizza because you have a whole-grain crust, plenty of vegetables, and a reasonable amount of cheese. Kids can make this in a toaster oven! A delicious garlic and tomato sauce covers tender pork cutlets. Serve with crusty bread, a leafy salad, and maybe a side of buttered pasta with a little of the sauce on top.
Located in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains of Virginia, MountainRose Vineyards provides everything needed to make your event unforgettable. Guests will enjoy 360° mountain views, a rural farm setting with pastoral surrounding and last but not least, award winning wines. 1- The Pond -This lawn area at the northwest corner of the pond is picturesque with the vineyard surrounding the pond and the roses on the vineyard rows.

My one of many visits this was the worse. Used to be a vip wine holder. Asked questions about the charcuterie board never got a clear answer. The cheese and other items were in packaging on the board. Not sure if due to covid . But while looking at the indoor shop of items to purchase we kept getting rushed out. Did not feel welcomed while we are… all local to the area. We also wore our mask so not sure what was going on even when we asked questions about events and items to purchase. We still hung out and enjoyed our time. And the lovely older lady was so sweet. As for the staff behind

We tried visiting the winery that was listed as Open on their website on Saturday 10/17/20. We were in the Norton area for an event with my Son. Upon arriving, we found a sign outside that said curbside service available, we went to the door and knocked as we could see people inside but no one answered the door. We then attempted to call as another sign outside suggested, but got a machine that advised they were busy and to call back later. We were looking forward to trying their wines, and were very disappointed after driving to get to their location, we weren't able to get anyone on site to even

Great out of the way vineyard in the Heart of Appalachia Wine Country with a delightful and engaging hostess (OP). While we were not able to have a flight tasting, we went with the hostess recommendation and was not disappointed!! We even bought a couple other bottles and look forward to tasting them at a later date. And look forward to coming back later in the year!
