We were looking for a bicycle ride to and from work, about 5 miles each way. We knew Walmart had inexpensive bikes (something around $150). Sometimes cheap works. Our goals - dependable, comfortable, with reliable local services. In Ukiah that's Dave's. We let Dave know what we wanted. He showed us new and used bikes. We selected a used Breezer Uptown 7. A great bike at a fair price. And, we knew Dave would be there to take care of any service needs. Experience speaks volumes. A great place for all of your bicycle needs

Charged me $218 to tune up my bike. 3 months later (with VERY little use) the shift cable snaps. Manager claims I "gave him a hard time" when in reality I asked if I'd get charged to replace the cable. Dave returns the bike to me incomplete and says I'll get better service when I'm not "giving his manager" a hard time. Do NOT waste your time and money on this failed establishment you will be sorely disappointed. Old man Dave must be losing his marbles poor fella needs to retire. Better service other places!!!

The real 5* is for Jake. If you know, you know.
I've used Dave's for a long time for family and myself. Seen them support local rides and triathlons for many years and its great to have a bike shop that is a bike shop and knows bikes. Not a box store that "has bikes" and a mechanic whos learning on your bike. (not to discredit a starting point mind you) but you get what you pay for. John and Dave make it...their combined knowledge is astounding and frightening how much they know (in a good way). Just had my lady's cruiser and boys bike adjusted and fixed up. They informed me roughly a few months

The worst possible service and terrible communication with customers with zero accountability. They said they would put a bike in hold until the end of the day, got my newborn daughter and wife loaded up to go keep in mind I live and hour and half away, and they call me back saying they sold the bike to someone else sorry was and hung up on me. Wouldn't recommend them at all. First and last time I deal with them

Just went in to Dave's bile shop for the first time ever, to fill up my bike tires with some air, asked the employee if he could tell me a bit about my bike, as it was gifted to me and had all these bells and whistles I was unfamiliar with, he was monotone and rude. The store was empty as well. I felt as if I was not welcome. I wanted to get a helmet as well as I have not biked on a mountain bike before and had been years since I rode a bike. He could have taken the opportunity to up sell something like my helmet or perhaps something else that could be useful for my rides. I decided to leave

Got my fantastic e-bike at Dave's Bike Shop. Well, actually I got my bike, helmut, new tires, pouch, gloves, water bottle and more right there at Dave's. We also love the bike rack we got there so now we are really ready to cycle almost anywhere!! We are totally satisfied customers and also love that Dave's is such a community supporter!! Go see them, if they dont have it, they will try to get it for you!!! Susan

Dave, John, and Jake make this shop what it is, excellent! They try to be everything to everybody in a small town that has exceptionally varying needs. That is a nearly impossible task, I think we can all agree. You can't please all the people ALL the time. It would appear based on reviews here and my own personal experience in the shop that they seem to please nearly all the people all the time. What may be exceptions, would be as an example, customers that boast about supporting local but come in and try to "shop" Dave, only to either go somewhere else in a not so small town OR worse go to the

I've never visited Dave's Bike Shop but can speak highly of their service: they set up a mobile repair station on the Mendocino Monster century ride and their presence ended up being a key, positive part of a great day. They quickly and pleasantly repaired a frayed and soon-to-break shifting cable that allowed me to finish the ride with piece of mind. Good stuff from what's undoubtedly a good little business. I look forward to stopping by next time in Ukiah.

This LBS has all anyone could ever want. I really like this shop; it doesn't have that big town shop feel, where you get crummy service and terrible attitudes. You would not expect them to have as much as they do, being located in such a small town, but they do! Dave and John are extremely helpful people and truly care about the people that walk in to their shop. They have the knowledge, and tools to get to job done perfectly and standby their work. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone owning a $50 bike to a $25,000 bike! Excellent shop and service!!!

Dave's shop is always helpful and friendly. These are good guys, I give them 2 thumbs up. They support local cycling causes and events like the Mendocino Monster. Jake is the one you have to avoid, he can't help you much and he won't talk to you but if you get too close he might even lick you--Jake is the German shepherd mascot of the shop. Shout out to Jake.

I came in from out of town looking for some supplies for a local bike ride. What I got was great customer service, a free map, and some very good directions on some local rides with the wine country in the background. The prices of the bikes are pretty good they have rentals and they have a little bit of everything including nutritional supplies for those long rides out here in the mountains.

Stopped in to ask a question about packing a bike. Sign in back said questions $60 an hour, or $20 for one question. They were not kidding! Very rude staff. When I call to talk to manager he was just as rude and said he needed to side with his staff. Very bad customer service. Called a store in Santa Rosa and they said come on down we will give you a box and packing material. I never mentioned to the Santa Rosa store where I was from or my experience with Dave's Bike Shop. So much for shopping local. Never going back to Dave's.
