DEFINE Dance Studio aims to create a positive, safe and judgement free environment where people can develop their passion for dance and the creative arts. We strive to teach values and fundamentals that are vital to being a well rounded dancer while also cultivating individuality. DEFINE Dance Studio is the newest addition to the East Bay Area community.
We offer a variety of classes for all ages and levels! Weekly Classes are 1 hour sessions. We hope to help you attain your dance goals! Due to the current guidelines provided by the CA government, Classes with 5 or less in person students will be held In Studio! We've created payment options to help each student take the amount of classes that they desire at the lowest rate possible.
In June of 2016, re. DEFINE Juniors found a home under the re. DEFINE Dance Company. The Juniors are trained to build a strong foundation of Hip Hop dance by the same dancers that first started before re. DEFINE grew up. The same values and experiences are being instilled into this reincarnation. Our Juniors strives not only to create better dancers but also well rounded individuals who share the same positive ideals.
For students who would prefer to take class from the comfort of their own spaces we now offer Online Classes! Below are the instructions on how to join us. We offer a variety of classes for all ages and levels! Classes with 5 or less in person students will now be held in Studio! You can also download the app on your mobile devices by searching ZOOM in the App Store or Google Play.
Flourish 2021: Online Summer Showcase is now available to view and share! Please remember to tag us @reDEFINEdanceCo and use the hashtag #FlourishSS2021. During one of the most unprecedented times in our history we were able to safely come together, grow as a community and continue creating art through dance and film.

A great hip hop dance studio in the East Bay! I've been dancing with re.DEFINE since 2018 and it feels like a second home. Everyone is incredibly kind, caring, and supportive. The studio doesn't feel like some other studios where there is a lot of pressure and judgement. I LOVE that it's mostly a hip hop focused studio -- definitely not something you get everywhere. And if I had kids, I would love to bring them to the kids classes offered here with some awesome teachers! The owners, Mappy and Margela are so nice and helpful!

ReDefine has been a remarkable place for our girls to learn dance, teamwork, dedication and artistic expression. Despite the challenges that isolation of being stuck at home, the leaders at this studio moved quickly to offer remote classes and expanded mentorship. These folks have made a major impact in my girls lives over the past year and a half. Thank you, reDefine!

I love the fact that they treat everyone as family. Great bunch of dance teachers, who you can call big brothers and big sisters. My daughter looks forward to coming to her practices. Never a dull moment. They always have some kind of projects for them to do. It’s just a great place for the kids to be in. I recommended this place since the first day my daughter started with this group. And now they are still growing as a family. ❤️

This is a great dance company in the East Bay area that provides amazing dance classes with top choreographers from all over the bay area as well as special guest choreographers from all over the US.
They also provide an opportunity to get stage time and performance experience at different types of events in the bay area.
The directors are highly skilled with years of experience dancing and directing dance companies within the bay area.

My son (5yo) had started going here in November, and while we had planned to stay for just a month, here we are four months later! He loves it! Miss Margela, the kids' instructor, is AMAZING!! When we first started, there was like 15 kids, and Miss Margela was super patient and always had a smile on her face! I was surprised with how she was able to remember all the kids names so quickly too. I would definitely recommend this class!

My daughter has been dancing for 11 years, for the last three on a competitive team as well as at her high… school. However hip hop at her dance studio was very entry level with no challenge. And they don’t do a lot of hip hop on the school team either. She was looking for another dance studio that had what she called “more experienced” hip hop classes. She also wanted to be on a team and feel a sense of teamwork and friendship as we are new to the area where we live, commute each day to school and she’d like to meet people in the area we live.
