Most of our lives are spent planning what we will do for a living, scheduling activities with friends and family, and deciding how to best protect and support our loved ones on a daily basis. Often, however, planning for what happens when we pass away is something that more often than not falls by the wayside.
Many people are surprised to learn that a "Will" and a "Living Will" are actually two different legal documents with very different purposes. A "Will" is a legal document where you can express your wishes and instructions for what will happen with everything you own when you pass away. It also allows you to designate guardians for children who are not old enough to legally care for themselves or inherit property.
