Mohs Micrographic surgery is an advanced surgical technique used for the removal of skin cancers. Mohs surgery is named after Dr. Fredrick Mohs, the person who developed the technique in 1938. The procedure seeks to spare as much healthy tissue as possible while assuring the patient a very high cure rate.

Our program began ten years ago under the American College of Mohs Surgery oversight and in 2013 transitioned to become an ACGME accredited fellowship in Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology. We are proud to be part of the Division of Dermatology of the Florida State University College of Medicine which is a regional based medical campus model with emphasis on care to the elderly, the underserved, and those in rural areas.

Excellent preparation for extensive work done to remove cancer. Dr. Jackson is certified in a method that allows cancer to be removed and examined in house, to assure all cancerous tissue has been removed. The office staff was wonderful and Audrianna (I hope I have her name right) was very reassuring and helpful as Dr. Jackson's assistant.

I was pretty disappointed with my visit, i had some serious concerns with dry skin and lesions that where forming on my extremities, I’m a 30 y/o athletic male, and I’m an anesthetist here in town.
The closest appointment was nearly a month away. When I got to my visit I was seen quickly by female PA, she didn’t really address any of my concerns. She performed a skin check and sprayed my dry knees with nitrogen and then prescribed steroid cream and gave me a few samples for psoriasis cream. No instructions were provided for the creams. The whole visit lasted less then 5 mins and since I

Husband has had numerous skin cancers removed over the years at various dermatology offices in four previous cities/states. We can say that without a doubt the Dermatology Associates of Tallahassee have provided the best patient care and support we've ever recieved. My husband had very extensive sun damage on both ears of which Dr. Harris Green and his staff took excellent care. The staff has been able to ease my husband's anxiety and leave him with respectable looking ears. Great team.

I've been going to Dermatology Associates for YEARS! The staff is very friendly and the doctors often have pre-med students working with them during exams or surgery ( I love that they include students in this way).
The doctors are fabulous. I see Dr. Richardson. He is most personable -- friendly, sincere, and thorough. I never feel that he is rushing through a visit, which is how I've felt with doctors in other practices. Not only that, but he can sew a fine seam which is much appreciated especially when he is working on your face!
I trust Dermatology Associates implicitly. You can't go wrong

I've been using Dermatology Associates for over 34 years. The level of service is unprecedented and the knowledge of the doctors is outstanding. I had a malignant carcinoma removed from the center of my back at 19 years old and Dr. Cognetta always explained the issue and followed up with me providing a comfort for a messy subject. I thought my last visit for a dermatology skin exam was handled in an excellent manner. Very thorough, with wonderfully positive atmosphere generated by the doctor and staff. I have the same opinion of my recent surgery to remove a basal cell cancer on the left side of my nose. DA is really a high quality health provider.
