Todd Tindel, a freshman in a northwest Austin high school, started his business with a $25 garage sale lawn mower and grew his business throughout high school and college.
In 1990, Todd graduated from Abilene Christian University with a BBA in business administration. With sales of $65,000 his senior year, Todd decided to stay with the business that had brought him this far. In 1993, Todd developed the company pledge: Customers are first, ALWAYS. As word of the way Cutting Edge Lawn Care respects and treats customers spread, the business grew by leaps and bounds.

My yard needed major help after the freeze. I called Cutting Edge as referred from a friend. The owner came out the next day and was able to determine the best plan of action for the yard. Just a few days later, the work was completed. What a huge relief. I felt sure I would be getting an HOA notice for weeds and the overall condition. Now i have a transformed yard with new mulch. I highly recommend Cutting Edge I for any lawn needs.

I love the flexibility if I need to add extra services. The online request system makes it easy for request dates, invoices, history etc. The team is professional and my lawn always looks its best after they have done their magic. Additional weed and feed service is wonderful. The email or call reminder is valuable. The aeration is so good for the soil. I was referred to Todd and his team by a good friend, and was also compelled by Todd's back story on Yelp. He and his team were as advertised - personable, professional, and responsive. The quality of work, and attention to detail during repairs was phenomenal. I had to have all the heads in my entire front yard raised to spray above the grass. … I expected a disaster of dead grass spots all over my new yard. They have done excellent service for me on a consistent basis, for my residence and my rental home. The gentlemen who do the work or very nice and hard working. Really appreciate how this company goes above and beyond! Hard workers who are rarely seen without a smile on their faces as well as extremely polite and engaged whenever I speak with them. They are very careful about closing the gate and making sure my little puppy is safe, as well as picking up any stray dog toys in the yard.

Todd and his crew are top notch stellar. I've used them for over two years at one of my rental properties. Todd is extremely attentive and an involved owner on a day-to-day basis. If something isn't resolved or isn't satisfactory, he is on it within a day or two and on it! Stop looking. You have found your landscape company. Todd and his family run a great business. The quality is top notch at a reasonable price. His employees are considerate and always on time. We have had to move 3 times since recently moving back to Austin and Cutting Edge was understanding and always right there to quickly meet our needs. It's rare to find a business that combines great quality and great customer service, that's why I would recommend Cutting Edge in a heartbeat. Plus Todd is a pretty cool name.

Short version: They are no longer our lawn service company.
Long version: The luster wore off quickly. I had them over to do irrigation repair, but the bill that arrived was twice what I was quoted. I paid it and moved on.
We also paid for weeding, fertilizing and pruning we didn't receive, and they continued to charge us for that for months. They also want to charge year-round, and this is something I missed in the paperwork when I signed up.
They damaged quite a few things over the summer, they did fix most of them, but it took multiple calls and emails and there were many excuses
