All orthodontists must be licensed to practice, but at this time only 1 in 3 orthodontists have continued on to become a board certified orthodontist. The American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) certification process signifies a unique achievement-a significant step beyond the two to three years of advanced education required for a dentist to become a specialist in orthodontics.
It's more important than ever to brush and floss regularly when you have braces, so the teeth and gums are healthy during orthodontic treatment. Patients who do not keep their teeth clean may require more frequent visits to the dentist for a professional cleaning. Adults who have a history of gum disease should also see a periodontist during orthodontic treatment.
Thanks to today's advances in orthodontic technology, Jack B. Hilty, DDS, MS, PC can provide our patients with more options when it comes to wearing braces than ever before. While traditional metal braces are still widely used, clear braces are very popular with teens and adults who are self-conscious about wearing braces, along with Invisalign removable aligners, the "braceless" alternative to straight teeth.
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that most children should have an orthodontic screening by age 7. This allows Dr. Jack Hilty to determine if orthodontic treatment will be required and the best time for the patient to be treated. Many of the dentists in our community have been trained to identify orthodontic problems early, and may refer you to our office earlier than age 7.
Adults seek orthodontic treatment for many of the same reasons as children. Some adults had orthodontic problems as children but were unable to correct them until now. Others, who had treatment as children, may need further treatment as adults due to relapse or limitations in initial treatment. I was not stoked about getting braces but needed them to address major spacing in my molars. Dr. Hilty and his team made the experience as painless as humanly possibly! Halfway through the 22 months I could already feel great progress, and the final results are wonderful.
The Glenwood team was fantastic and professional, as was the Aspen location. I visited the Aspen team once when I popped off a bracket early on while trying to use my teeth as a tool to remove plactic wrappings on a bottle top. They got me in ASAP and replaced the lose bracket and i learned a valuable lesson! Teeth are for eating

Wearing braces was not fun in the least but I am so glad to have had Dr. Hilty and his team’s expertise in getting me through it all. He was kind and responsive and if I expressed concerned about anything, he was open to helping me address that concern. All of his staff is top notch as well! Highly recommend them!

Dr. Hilty and his staff are amazing. Getting braces as an adult is a hard decision and I am so happy with my results. Words can't describe how different my smile is. Dr. hilty worked with me and my cosmetic dentist to get my ideal results.

We went to a couple of orthos before choosing Dr Hilty. I also looked at other kids who had braces and saw great results and responses from the ones who had seen Dr Hilty. We went in for our free consult. H suggested waiting a while for a couple of teeth to come in and then come back. I was relieved he didn't want to put them on twice, like some try and do. $$$$ we were very happy with the entire staff. They were always very helpful with schedules appoint times that worked. Having multiple locations throughout the valley was very helpful also. I highly recommend the entire team of Dr. Hilty.

I recently finished my ortho treatment with Dr. Hilty and his team. Dr. Hilty provided an excellent treatment plan and his depth of knowledge is out standing. The team are fantastic and the level of professionalism and care during my treatment far exceeded my expectations. As an adult getting braces for the first time, I was initially nervous about the process, but if you are an adult thinking about getting braces, just go for it! The experience was excellent and I cannot recommend Dr. Hilty and his team highly enough. Thank you guys, I love my new smile and the confidence it has given me!
