Kewaskum's finest; Alter-Ego is located in the beautiful Kettle Moraine. We have proudly resided in Kewaskum since the early 90s. Owner Renee Pastorius bought the studio from her mentor, David Jaecks (Weezle) in 1998. We then changed to our second location in which "Main Street Tattoo" became Alter-Ego Tattoo Studio, LLC.
We understand that a tattoo is an expression of yourself and we take that to heart! To help you get the perfect tattoo, we have multiple tattoo artists with a wide variety of skills and artistic styles. Whether you are looking for a traditional tattoo, tribal, traditional Japanese, watercolor, realistic, areola reconstruction, and more, we can turn your tattoo design dream into a beautiful reality!
Touch-ups will be free for two years from the first appointment date, if several appointments are needed to complete (we call this our "guarantee"). After that, there will be a minimal charge to touch up your tattoo. Tattoos that we at Alter-Ego originally did, but the client went to another establishment to have worked on, are no longer covered under our guarantee.
Owner: Renee Pastorius, married, mother of four boys, tattooing for 26 years (all in Kewaskum) Tattoo Artist, Body Piercer, Permanent makeup Technician, and Laser Tattoo Removal Technician. Graduated from Lomira High School-1988, Graduated from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design-1992 with a Bachelor of Fine Art.

Renee is awesome. This was my first tattoo. RJ on phones explained to me How the booked appointments but I was able to snag a cancelation.
Renee took the time to listen to me, assuage me of my fears and concerns, and worked with me in the design.
This is a business owned by women and I'm glad to support them. I'm thrilled with my tattoo and recommend this place.

I love Alter Ego, I will forever be going there now. I just got my nose pierced today by Heather. She is soo sweet and amazing! I was so scared, she walked me through it, and I came out happy as ever😊 all the girls are so nice, place is so clean. Thank you all, especially Heather! When I got done with my piercing she made sure I was okay, and let me sit down for a bit before I left while she went over how to care for my piercing as well. Ill definitely be back soon for my first tattoo

I received one of my first tattoos at Alter-Ego 15+ years ago. It was a great experience and has stood the test of time. It still looks great. Ruth has now been working on a full sleeve for me over the course of two years. She is amazing, I absolutely love her style and quality of work, and the custom designs she has created for me are fantastic! She is always on time, the place is bright and clean, everyone is always professional but friendly and fun. Well worth any wait there may be! I highly recommend Alter-Ego!

Alter-Ego is an amazing shop! Heather has done 3 of my tattoos and I love every one of them. I always feel extremely comfortable when I go there and I honestly can’t wait to go back!

HEY you, yes you, STOP🛑 scrolling through the reviews to see if this tattoo studio is the place for you. IT IS!! The ladies here do outstanding work! They are always inviting and have great personalities! The studio is like no other. Always super neat and clean but, also welcoming. (There's a fireplace for goodness sakes) I have had all my ink done here and a piercing. I always recommend them to anyone looking to get their first or their one hundredth tattoo. There truly is no place like Alter-Ego Tattoo Studio!❤❤

Would HIGHLY recommend the ladies at Alter-Ego Tattoo! I've had my ears pierced and several tattoos done here. Extremely clean and well run. The atmosphere is wonderful and inviting. I brought in my ideas for my tattoo and Ruth worked with me to get to the final piece that I ended up going with. Definitely worth the drive if you don't live close.

State of the art! I got my first tattoo today and couldn't have been a better experience. All the staff are very friendly and professional and the place has a clean, calming and inviting atmosphere. The scheduling process is outstanding! The booking was done in a blink of an eye and they placed a follow up call to confirm my appointment. I brought a sketch of what I wanted and Ruth, my tattoo artist, worked wonders putting her unique artistic touch to give life to what I envisioned. I'm super pleased!
