Services
Community Home Builders has been operating in the Willamette Valley for over 28 years, providing stable housing for more than 600 people, including 300 children. We have contributed over $32 million dollars to our local economy by partnering with local vendors, contractors, and suppliers, who have helped us build more than 200 affordable homes.
The United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development Provides technical assistance grants for our nonprofit to assist low income individuals and families in the construction of their home. Community And Shelter Assistance Corp (CASA) is a private nonprofit that helps direct-service agencies throughout the state improve the quality of life for families in all communities.
28 years of building affordable housing, developing ownership, creating equity and fostering skills. At first, I thought it was a Habitat for Humanity program. I called and they said they weren't building in Amity. Then I saw the Yamhill Community Development Corporation ad in the paper and called.
Our Mutual Self-Help Housing program is for low to moderate income families determined to own their own homes. Approved applicants join a group of 8-12 families that work together to build each others homes in a rural community. You receive the financing, technical assistance and construction training needed to successfully complete the program, become a homeowner and take steps toward financial security.
Once complete, this community will provide 26 families a place to call home. Nine houses in Dayton, Oregon were completed in the summer of 2017, providing these families the opportunity for long-term stable housing! Fifty lots were purchased in Lafayette, Oregon. These were fully developed lots, ready for construction.
