Depanneur: n Depanneur (from the French verb Depanner, meaning "to help out of difficulty" or "troubleshoot"; often shortened to "dep") is the name for convenience store, independently run corner shop, general store or deli, in the province of Quebec in Canada. We like to think of ourselves as a better bodega, hence our name Depanneur, but we're not your typical corner store.
We strive to carry a collection of local, delicious, and innovative products from Brooklyn, NY state and around the world as well as sandwiches made with the highest quality ingredients sourced locally whenever possible and coffee beverages made with Partners beans and farm fresh milk. I see the Dep as a gallery / incubator for the huge increase in local regional / boutique products that are now available.

This place is cute, service is friendly and the sandwiches are very tasty but $16 for a small turkey sandwich is obviously nuts. Pricing could and should be be more reasonable. But you can seldom find a business that doesn't take advantage of its customers in WB anymore. Comes with the territory. At least they don't skimp on quality!

I really love this place. They serve beverages and a cute menu of sandwiches. They also sell novelty items like books or fancy ingredients made locally.
Everything is dope, I don't have much to complain about because everything is top notch from service to product. But it is on the pricier side IMO. But it's Williamsburg so it makes sense.
Would recommend the acme salmon sandwich and an iced oat milk latte

My fiancé has been here at least a dozen times and loves it. She was so excited for me to try it. We went to pick our sandwiches up and when we got home we realized they were completely burnt. I'm surprised they would even allow it to go out like that. It was definitely a disappointing first experience.

This is such a cute store! Loved everything inside, especially the dried flowers. For $36 you can get a bundle of dried flowers that are so unique and beautiful. They sell a lot of specialty items from all over the states.
The sandwich I loved is the turkey #4. It has perfect ratio of bread and vege and meats. The flavor tastes like spicy Mayo and it was really great.

I used to go into this place every day for cold brew; they were one of the few places that was open during covid, and their cold brew was good (and sizable). also, the service was, and still is, great.
but then, one day, the cold brew tasted completely different. either they changed their formulation or started watering the coffee down, but it was clearly no longer cold brew. just weak iced coffee, at best. other regular customers that I knew noticed the same thing.
the sandwiches are also pretty good, as is the selection of gourmet food, but even considering what it is, you will be shocked

I love the space! As a cafe owner in Boston I really appreciate the thoughtfulness of the layout and selection. Some of these reviews blow my mind!!
People be thankful this business is opening and able to function at any capacity. Some customers have no clue how hard it is to balance a staff, vendors, pay roll, health regulations, customers etc etc
This is an impossible time and these guys are doing great things.
Also pricing reviews!!! I got two cold brews and a sandwich and thought the price was on point.
People once more understand we are not massive corporations that receive huge discounts

After my workout I decided to grab lunch and sit by the benches near domino park, walked by this place while going to the water front then realized I could get food here to eat here and walked back.
The store is cute. I thought it was a cafe but they also have random little things. Now reading other people's descriptions... it's a bodega I guess. To me it just feels like a cafe or quirky grocery's store. I'd prob just come for sandwiches and coffee when I'm close by or food for bench. If you really want kombucha or cider they also have it here.

For the soup and the ambience. Feels like you're in the 1800s in a general store perhaps one where Laura Ingels' dad "Pa" goes into one of the bigger towns miles away from Walnut Grove. You feel like a foreigner in a time warp the moment you enter and then a split second later you feel cozy and right at home as you smell the aromas of fresh coffee and warm sandwiches. Take a seat and watch Brooklynites (the true hipsters of NYC) cross the street and walk their dogs or stroll their kid. It's easy to relax in this space.
