Chapters of the Missouri Academy of Family Physicians (MAFP) also sometimes referred as "Component Chapters, " are a subcategory of MAFP/AAFP. Chapter dues and local dues vary by membership type and by chapter.
In 1947, the Missouri Academy of General Practice was chartered as a Constituent Chapter of the American Academy of General Practice. To more accurately reflect the changing nature of primary health care, the national academy became the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) in 1971. The Constituent Chapters followed suit, and our organization become known as the Missouri Academy of Family Physicians.
