Our Foundation's purpose is to act as a support system for the Summerville Union High School District. We plan projects that have long-term effects. We fund projects that could never be funded by other sources. Your donations can provide the materials and finishing touches that will help us enhance the educational experience for students at Summerville, both now and into the future.

The Foundation has moved ahead with funding for Bear Grants this year in spite of all that is happening in the wider world. The Foundation receives funds from members of the community and those requests are almost always donated for a specific purpose. Sometimes they are donated on behalf of a loved one or family members as a memoriam.

Our local businesses are the heart of our ability to provide Bear Grants to staff and teachers to enhance the quality of education for students at Summerville. We fund creative ideas for the classroom in Arts, Academics and Athletics. Over the years, and decades, state funding has never been adequate for the superior education we all want for our students.

We are proud to announce our inductees for the 2020 Summerville High School Hall of Fame. This is a group of outstanding students who made extraordinary contributions on many different levels while at Summerville. Selections were made by the Hall of Fame Committee, a group of 10 local community members, who collectively have over 235 years of experience in working with Summerville students and alumni.

As members of the community, we are proud to be leading our Foundation into an exciting new chapter. Over the years, donor dollars have transformed our school and this year we are gearing up to really focus on grants, community donations and involvement.

State funding alone cannot support the excellence in education that our community deserves, so it is the Foundation's mission to ensure the continued success by supporting Summerville's exceptional teaching staff and outstanding curriculum.
