The base places their feet on the flyer's hips. To come out of Front Bird Pose, the base slowly bends their knees to allow the flyer's feet to connect with the mat. Once you feel comfortable here, you can play around! The base can turn the flyer around from folded leaf to straddle bat. Then, back around, birth through, and back to bird! Go through this sequence a few times, and we call that a washing machine.

I love everything about practicing yoga here. The instructors are warm + friendly, the space is welcoming, and the offerings are exactly what the community needed. Highly recommend trying out any of the classes but the Sound Healing with Annette is so magical and Buti might be the most fun I've ever had in a class setting!

I went to a yoga class here while visiting Moab and really enjoyed it! The space is great and the instructor was super friendly. I tried buti yoga, which I'd never done before, and had a blast! Courtney was a great teacher and the class was so much fun. I would definitely come back here if I was visiting Moab again, and I highly recommend it to any traveling yogis!
The studio has mats available to rent and lots of props if you need them. They also have a bathroom inside and a few parking spots outside. Basically, they've got you covered.

Jill was warm, experienced, and offered alternatives without disturbing the flow. Studio is very clean and beautiful. The cool towels offered in savasana is so sweet and memorable. When I return I will surely pay another visit. Keep up the great important work!

Totally recommend. I’ve been practicing at Desert Power Yoga for about 10 months now, since right after the studio opened. I love the all the different teachers, the classes, the small class sizes, and the space. I appreciate the little things, like moist towelettes for savasana and good heat lamps for hot yoga. I’m grateful that I can find a class to suit my needs every day, and that all the instructors provide a range modifications. As someone who’s practiced yoga for 15+ years, in a number of different studios in major US cities — I love this little local studio, the owner Courtney,

Courtney was an amazing instructor! We did an outdoor sunset yoga class and it was honestly the best yoga I've ever done. The site she picked was ideal, she had everything set up and it was a wonderful class where she incorporated both the people we were with and the amazing nature around us! I highly recommend doing an outside class, or at the very least going into the studio for some classes!

I attended Courtney's Power Vinyasa class last Wednesday and loved it! After a couple years off of yoga, I felt so at home coming back to my practice in this class. Courtney lead an excellent flow, with multiple variations to accommodate injuries and varying skill levels. It is obvious she is passionate about yoga and teaching. I would recommend this class to people who have been practicing for years, or newbies alike. Thank you Courtney and Desert Power Yoga!
