Happy Valley Vineyard & Winery
Located in State College, PA, the 9 acre vineyard at Happy Valley Winery produces specific varietals that transform well into our stylistic wines. At Happy Valley Vineyard & Winery, we begin with sustainable agricultural practices in the vineyard as well as using energy efficient products to make our wine.

Our wines have been honored with national and international awards since we began production in 2010. We grow premium grapes that produce wines with distinctive varietal character. Although we focus on dry whites and dry reds, our list of thirty plus wines has something that will please every palate.
Services
Happy Valley Vineyard was established in 1999 with an initial three acres of vines on land initially settled for farming in the 1850's. The vineyard has more than tripled in size at 9.5 acres and consists of white and red cultivars that are well adapted to the continental climate of Centre County and to the limestone soils of our farm.
State laws require someone 21 years of age or older to sign for the package at delivery, therefore it may be preferable to ship to a business address. We ship our wine in 3 different sized boxes depending upon the amount ordered: 3 bottle box, 6 bottle box, and 12 bottle box. The maximum we ship per order is 12 bottles.
Our rates listed below are subject to change as we learn what additional costs we will incur. If you would like to schedule an event at the winery, please email us at hvvwevents@gmail.com. Let us know the size of your group, date and time of event, if there will be food catered, and any other details that will help us make your event successful.
Tours of the vineyard winery are available by appointment only for $10.00 per person. Tours may be weather permitting. Formal tours are required to pay a non-refundable 50% deposit at time of scheduling the tour. We do not do tours through the winter months starting in November through end of March.
Central Pennsylvania provides a unique growing area for the specific varieties grown at Happy Valley. Special care and attention goes into every vine until the harvest date. We believe quality wine will be produced by a quality vineyard. Located on a farm established in the 19th century, the 9.5-acre vineyard contains over 15 varieties of grapes for the production of Happy Valley wines.

Ok. I didn't have a lot of expectations from Pennsylvania wine. I was hoping for a fun time with my wife for our anniversary.
However, we did two wine flights, delicious.
Crackers , cheese, salami. Fun time and the woman there was very attentive and accommodating.
We wound up buying 6 bottles to take home and cheese.
Lovely setting, the vineyard is beautiful. Great place if you want to taste wine in a simple relaxed environment.

Excellent winery with beautiful outdoor views. Both indoor and outdoor seating. Wines are very good. Highly recommend the Meritage if you like reds. Live bands on Fridays are especially fun.

Happy Valley wine is superb! The amenities are to be desired. We were greeted with no indoor seating, tastings, or flights. "It is Mother's Day and graduation
weekend, after all!" Then why are the landscaping and planters full of weeds? Exterior looks neglected.

The wines were good as was the cider we tried. Outdoor seating is nice and pleasant, but indoor vibe is not especially inviting. Service was quick and pleasant. The lower rating is based on the flight prices, especially when compared with other local wineries. Price was way too high for literally a small shot glass size plastic cup only halfway filled. If the flight is what your looking for, this is not the place to go for price or even enough of a sample to truly taste the wine.

The wines here are made from grapes grown in the field out back; not shipped-in from elsewhere in PA and NY state. The results are beautiful, jammy, flavorful wines with a great balance and with consistency within vintages. I favor Chancellor, Noiret, Chambourcin for reds and the Autumn Wood for white - - so much so that I buy them by the case and take them back to Colorado with me. Not expensive and better than many (if not most) California wines, in my opinion.

Went to see a Friday night concert. Small place and usually busy on Friday evenings. Great atmosphere. Good folks. I'm not a big fan of wine, and had their hard cider. Quite good. Bring some friends, some snacks, grab some wine or cider and enjoy the music. Nice way to spend the first part of your Friday evening.

Nice winery with an extensive selection of wines, ranging from whites, to reds, dry, sweet and more. Very polite and very good explanations and wine education. If you're in the neighborhood, definitely visit them.

Absolutely love this place! A wonderful find with delicious wines. There are 5 free tastings and anything after that is $1. I found that after trying 5 wines, there were 2 I loved and wanted to buy (the Pinot Grigio at $12.50 and Appalachia Red at $15). The wines are refreshing and delicious - there were none I disliked. They're also affordable and local - two extra bonuses. I loved coming here with friends as an an adventure and I loved finding delicious, local wines.

Always nice to visit with friends. Excellent wines. We brought supper items to share with each other as we listened to the live music inside. Finished up with just chat around large outside table on patio in the lovely summer evening.

A group of us traveled from NJ to see the Penn State/Rutgers game on Saturday. We arrived on Friday afternoon and decided to check out this winery right down the street from where we were staying. I sure glad we did. We ended up staying for hours. They even had a band start playing just before we had to leave. They have a nice selections of wines to to choose from. You get a tasting of up to 5 for free and you can purchase additional tastings for $1. They serve full glasses for $5 and have about 8 premium wines for $8 a glass. We also bought an assortment of cheeses, crackers and salami (all made
