Resistant to scratches and heat, granite is a combination of the mineral quartz crystals, feldspar and other minerals formed from liquid magma, the molten rock found at the core of the planet. When liquid magma is cooled slowly, it forms granite, which has the hardness and durability of diamond. Granite is a natural product and comes from the ground, which means no two slabs of granite are the same.

It is composed primarily of the mineral calcite (CaCO3) and usually contains other minerals, such as clay minerals, micas, quartz, pyrite, iron oxides, and graphite. Under the conditions of metamorphism, the calcite in the limestone recrystallizes to form a rock that is a mass of interlocking calcite crystals.
Quartz countertops combine the strength and beauty of natural quartz with high-performance, stain-resistant polymers resulting in a smooth, non-porous surface that resists stains and never needs to be sealed. Both heat and scratch resistant, Quartz countertops are incredibly durable making its surfaces easy to clean and maintain.

Fantastic Work! It’s like having a new kitchen! We couldn’t be happier with our new granite countertops. This is a pro team. Every step was great: project advice, templating, fabrication, and installation. Top notch the whole way. I’ve done a lot of remodeling in every house we have owned, and I have used many contractors. Trust me when I say this one knows what they are doing. Their pricing is also very fair (I don’t say cheap because cheap leads to disasters). Our project included: kitchen, bar, fireplace hearth, and one bath vanity.

Super company to deal with. Their prices are really fair and more importantly, the quality of the stone and the install was superb. I own Andrews Jewelers in Williamsville, NY and hired International Stone to put the final touch on our new store. I can't say enough about this wonderful company and the job they did.
