Refusal of service to someone under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

I use to enjoy stopping in this store on my visits to Julian but today has changed that outlook for good. The man with the longer hair was extremely rude. I entered his store with a service dog. He told me I had to leave because he has his dog there who has a heart condition. When I told him it was service dog he said, "no it is not" because his other dog he had in there with him came up on mine and she turned to the dog. (That was the only interaction. She turned to face the dog. No barking. No out control interaction

You feel the warmth when you enter this shop and are greeted by the owners who are locals and very knowledgeable about their merchandise and the town of Julian. There is a nice selection of jewelry and gifts with a wide price range that assures you will find that special momento for yourself or souvenir gifts for family and friends. I bought a stunning eco conscious butterfly pendant made from the wing of a butterfly that had lived out its natural life in a sanctuary. And COVID19 safe.
A must if you visit this charming mountain town.

We had the worst experience ever. We were holding our baby dogs. The owner yelled and screamed at us while HER dogs were running around the shop. She used the "f" word on us at least 5 times chasing us out of her shop with the "f" word. A true hypocrite. She has dogs but no one else can? We even held ours . They never touched her floor. Beware!!!!!!! Horrific experience!!!!! Pure junk from a true witch.

Lovely shop with beautiful, quality merchandise and the most lovely, friendly owner, Elizabeth Snider-Rodriquez.
She is usually in the shop and is just a sweetheart. She shares a great love and enthusiasm for the Beach Boys and their great music. She even has a corner wall in the shop with her collection of Beach Boy photos, concert memorabilia and the like.
She carries genuine, authentic, quality, wool "PENDLETON" shirts from the Pendleton Woolen Mills in Oregon. You will find some awesome plaid boardshirts like the ones worn by the Beach Boys in the 1960's. I love the ones that I got at Mountain

I spent some time and money in here today. The staff are very friendly and seem to know the products they are selling. I purchased a very intricately made item which the staff were quick to demonstrate how it was made. They have a wide variety of items and are certainly worth a look and a listen.

Celebrating 30 years in operation, the Mountain Gypsy offers high quality jewelry and clothing. My wife and I stopped in this store at the end of our day of shopping and she still needed something special for our daughters. She ended up with earrings for the girls, a dear friend and I found a pair that I snuck into my purchase for a Christmas gift for her. On our way home, my wife said she definitely wanted to return to Julian and spend more time in the clothing section. The owner was also nice enough to supply me with a bandaid for a cut I received while exiting our vehicle.

I love visiting this store every time we come to Julian! Their vast selection of precious and semi-precious gemstone jewelry is fantastic. No two pieces are alike and the prices are the best I've found in a mountain tourist type town. There are necklaces, bracelets, and rings to suit every style. I happen to like large statement rings and I always walk away with several large semi-precious pieces for under $200.

The staff are helpful and courteous. There is a selection of clothing, shoes, and tchotchkes as well.

This store is so fun. The SHOES!!! Love the shoes. Was so thrilled to find a great gift for my mom here, too. Friendly staff and a great place to browse for cool, unique things.

Staff was incredibly nice. Tons of cute stuff on sale. Anything from shoes and clothes, to cute wine bottle holders. Found a couple of hilarious shirts I will be returning for !

We recently paid a visit to the little town of Julian. It was a bit chilly up there in January and my girl needed a scarf for her neck.

We stopped in here and they had just what we needed. She really enjoyed the store and if it wasn't for me she probably would have spent even more time in here.

Run by a really pleasant woman, this shop has really nice and unique clothing and shoes (among other things). We went in just looking, and my wife and I found two really great items each. Priced well, quality, and a caring owner made this place a winner. Definitely will return, and you should check it out next time you climb the mountains to Julian.

Over the years I have loved visiting the little mountain town of Julian but one does not experience it's unique bounty of beauty and style without stepping into the Mountain Gypsy.
The little store has expanded since my last visit a few years ago. Their amazing selection of gemstone jewelry dazzles my senses. I have always walked out with the perfect piece for myself or gift for others without breaking my budget. Yesterday was no different...I found an exquisite mix of Lapis Lazuli and Aquamarine gemstones set in a sterling silver ring that was just my size.

Just saw this place from the road and decided to give it a try. Glad we did. Great size portions and great taste. Service was awesome. Homemade by the owner makes this place a gem for the locals in the area.

The staff is so friendly here and helpful! I bought my first Corkys flip flops and heels here and fell in love with them! They are not only unique in design but also comfortable!! They also have a great selection of beautiful pieces of jewelry! A great find!!

One of the only place in town that carries adorable ladies clothing in every size.. from tiny to 3x. The shoes are to die for. Sales staff is very nice.

We bought an outfit for M's mom and she loved it. Loads of cool chick stuff, clothes, jewelry, hats, and shoes. The clerk said the shoes were jumping off the shelves. Didn't seem to restless to me. I offered M some rubber coated material cowboy rain boots. She didn't go for it, but I thought they looked good on her.

The clerk was very nice and helpful. The owner as just as nice and courteous. They had three small doggies as pets in the store, so if your allergic, maybe think twice. The dogs were nice and friendly.

I came here to look around for an outfit for my vacation. All I can say is I did not feel welcome. I am Hispanic and when I was walking in the employee/ owner gave me a dirty look. My husband is white and was walking behind me, we didn't feel welcome what so ever. I was looking at the jewelry for about 5 min or so. Then two Caucasian ladies walk in and look at the jewelry for a split second, when the employee asked if they would like her to take something out to look at. I walked out. My husband also got the same feeling. He said she looked at him like are you with her? Are you bringing her in
