Heartland Disposal is owned by Tom Ummel Sr. and his son, Tommy Ummel Jr. Tom Ummel Sr. has been involved in multiple roles in the solid waste disposal industry in the central Nebraska area for the greater part of the last forty years. While Tommy Ummel Jr after receiving his bachelors degree from the University of Lincoln also decided to make a career in the waste industry.

Services
Heartland Disposal is equipped to provide trash service to any size commercial business. We offer trash service pickups from one per week to as many as six times per week. Every business has different needs and that's why we offer trash container sizes from a 96-gallon cart up to a 40-yard container and compactors.
Heartland Disposal reserves the right to determine how recycling products are handled, collected, and processed. Market values continually shift and change recycling options. We encourage our customers to continue to recycle. Heartland Disposal offers rural residential household waste pickup to residents outside of town.

This company picks up garage or are supposed too in St Paul on Tuesday. They skip us on at the very least a monthly bases. I call and I’m told just put it back out on Friday and they skip it again. Of course since they are pd by the city which I’m charged for, there is never any way to get a refund. When I call the city to complain I’m told to call Heartland just a vicious circle. And I the customer loses out. If there is another company for St. Paul try them first.

Twice in the last two months we've had our garbage not picked up, as well as several of our neighbors. The yard waste was even worse. They rarely picked it up and even when we cancelled it, it took them two years to get the receptible.
We finally switched. I can understand mistakes happen, but when they happen as often as they did with this company, you can tell something is wrong.

They had one of their guys run into one of our buildings with a roll-off dumpster and cause damage to on of the walls. You can perfectly tell that it was from them with the location of the damage, right where they back up to set their roll-off dumpster. Would not recommend them and will not be using them anymore after we were told there isn't anything they can do. Apparently they don't know what customer service is.

My neighbor called me this morning to tell me the storm last night destroyed a big box I had sitting out to go to trash. He said when the guys running the garbage truck showed up they were on their hands and knees picking up all the garbage that had spilled. That to me speaks volumes of their service.

They did not pick up the trash for the first 3-4 weeks after starting service. Had to call each week to get everything pick up each week. After a few months of service they stopped picking up grass. After that cancelled service and was told I would get a refund for the unused services. It has been almost 3 months and still have not received a refund. The only thing that this company has going for it is the prices would from shopping around are the best in town, but if you never get service then it doesn't matter how cheap it is.
