As Morris Inc. surface mines granite boulders and breaks them for various aggregate jobs, Milton was always struck by the unique color and beauty found in every boulder. He was also familiar with the process of carving letters in stone. It was a natural fit for him, to turn the seemingly ordinary granite boulders into beautiful carved landscape features, welcoming people to his home.
Soon after neighbors and friends noticed his carved stone and requested he carve stones for them. This was the beginning of Dakota Classique Rock. Focusing on the rock, Miltons' ideas grew. He bought a wire saw and polisher to cut and do finish work, and later a blade saw.

For a more traditional monument, we also carry cut and polished memorials in quarried granite. We find rough and tumbled boulders on the prairie, and haul them to our location where we cut and flame a flat face suitable for sandblasting letters and artwork. The rest of the boulder is left in its natural form, however we can cut the back as well if that is your desire.
A perfect table for outdoor living spaces or stately interiors. The table top is cut from glacial granite stone making each uniquely different in shape and color. Available with or without built-in fire ring. Our boulder decor are items hand crafted from glacial granite.
