One of the things that sets Vista Nueva High School apart from other high schools is the teachers. They play a big role in the academic success of the students. However, we need to have the drive to change our bad habits ourselves. The smaller classrooms don't allow us to sit at the back and hide from engagement, or let us slip through the cracks.
Vista Nueva is an alternative high school setting that focuses on a new view of learning. We collaborate with a staff that feels like family and students who strive to achieve what they never thought was possible. Students feel more at home with a smaller community of peers and we provide one teacher for each specific subject.

Services
It all began as a thought and a lot of meetings. Administrators worked tirelessly and passionately to establish the structure, character, purpose, and location of what was first called Aztec Alternative High School. While attending school in a church building the inaugural year, students wanted a name that reflected more than just 'alternative'.
We have yet to figure out all of the details as it will depend heavily on the guidance from NMPED and the Governor's office. We will adhere to all social distancing, large gathering and face covering recommendations that are in place at the time of the ceremony. This could mean several things. We may hold a traditional graduation ceremony, with students only and stream the ceremony for families and friends.
