I couldn't use my Lamaze training because I hadn't had it yet, and an epidural was totally out of the question, so I had to find another way to handle the pain. For some reason, I started focusing on soothing images (visualizing colors, my body floating, etc), guiding myself through those images and away from the pain as my daughter was born.
