The project is a comprehensive remodel of a hotel built in the middle 1970s. The hotel will be given a new lobby atrium to redefine entry and project the hotel's new presence in Great Falls. The Lobby will act as a communal gathering space and accommodate special activities for guest enjoyment. All guest rooms will be overhauled and the building systems will be changed to assure efficiency and customer comfort and convenience.
BDA provided full architectural design services for this new branch library in the small town of Big Sandy, MT. The project occupies a site in the center of the town and will contribute to a nascent rejuvenation effort evidenced by some recent private investment in the community.

Our work had been to facilitate a public input process and work to a very strict budget while providing the community with a building that will serve current and future needs for generations to come.
The project is a comprehensive remodel and upgrade to the existing facility with a small addition to accommodate functions that have previously been performed outdoors. MOI provides training and employment for developmentally disadvantaged people through commercial laundry and thrift store functions.
This project had many facets. What started out as a little reworking for a kitchen soon turned into a rethink of access to the Master Suite and the reconfiguration of it as well. The problems the clients had with their house were the result of an earlier addition that didn't take proper consideration of circulation patterns.
What began as a simple garage grew to become a one bedroom guest house. The plan is simple but the space dynamic with full-height, vaulted ceilings and a cantilevered deck that frames views to the North and East along the Rocky Mountain Front. The living space was framed using Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) to provide improved thermal performance and to speed construction to beat approaching weather.
