Remaining faithful to the original architecture and the historical integrity, the Inn on the Square has been carefully renovated to preserve its classic style and offer guests the ultimate in comfort. In fact, the original buildings of the Inn on the Square date back to the early part of the twentieth century.
It originally was a two-story building with an adjoining one-story structure. A small alley split the two. At least seventeen businesses were located in the buildings over the years, including a funeral home, a grocery store, a furniture store, and a garage. The buildings went vacant in the 1970s and began to deteriorate.

Arranged over two floors, we offer you 46 well-appointed rooms, each designed to meet your every need. You have your choice of our spacious Executive guest rooms with a king bed, or our more cozy Atrium rooms with one queen bed or our Uptown rooms with two queen beds or a king bed. All with ensuite bathrooms.
Our friendly waitstaff and bartenders are ready to serve you a cocktail, appetizer or full meal. Our Fox & Hound lounge menu is available to you along with our fine wine selection and micro-brewery crafted beers. Have a seat at the bar or meet up with friends to enjoy our weekday Happy Hour, Monday - Friday, from 4 - 7 p.m. along with live music some nights.

This is a wonderful place. I am not sure exactly where the square went but I do know this: while the outside looks rather plain the interior has that SE United States charm. They have crammed an amazing number of interesting pieces into a finite area. It feels as if you have walked into your favorite Auntie's place and everything is just as it should be.
The rooms are quiet; trains toot in the distance in a comforting manner. The rooms have comfortable chairs; much like your old room when you came home from college.

Delicious St Patrick's day meal of corned beef and cabbage. Spot on. Carrots and potatoes were well done and hit the spot. Could barely finish it all, but it was so good I did. Staff was friendly and entertaining in between patrons helping each other out when they could. Great atmosphere and right in the Inn, so could walk to my room.
